What's the best looking armor in your opinion?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 9:44 pm

It seems that I'm the only one who thinks Orcish Armor is the coolest looking armor in the game. Followed by ebony. Then steel-plate. I like daedric armor a lot also but when you look at it, it seems like it's more light armor than heavy armor considering how thin it looks (or maybe that's just me). So, what are your thoughts? Anybody else like Orcish armor out there?

EDIT: I usually wear ebony boots, gloves, body+legs, spellbreaker, daedric sword, and a helm of Yngol. Looks awesome. If anyone wants a pic of it, I can post one but it won't look too good because I'm on PS3 and I'll have to take it with my phone.

Ebony Mail
I like ebony mail but I hate the fact that whenever there's enemies nearby, the whole suit just turns into a "shadow." It gets annoying since your weapons and shield turn that color too....

Linwe's armor is semi-unique Thieves Guild gear.
Has unique enchantments, & a few visual differences. You get by looting it off of well, Linwe's corpses during the Thieves Guild special job "Summerset Shadows."

Savior's hide, fur bracers, stormcloak officers helmet and forsworn boots. This is the best looking 'fur' type armor combination my character has found, I wear these and have smithed them up to reasonable levels, along with my high light armor skill and perks, so I can use them at high levels on master.

I combine this with Wuuthrad, I've found better battleaxes such as ebony (my second favourite) and daedric, but how can I not use the legendary weapon of Ysgramor.

Daedric chest armor looks terrible, for an evil looking heavy armor character I'd probably go for ebony armor/mail with daedric boots, gauntlets (these look amazing when casting spells) boots and helmet. Possibly use another helmet like the masque of clavicus vile.

For a good heavy armor character, it's got to be steel or steel plate.

Daedric armor looks incredibly awesome, though I think the honors of best looking armor goes to the stormcloak gear + Savior's Hide, especially on my Saxhleel.

My personal favorite is probably scaled armor. Minus the helm.

The fur combo? I experimented with a few different combos, that seemed to look the best. Sometimes I sacrifice some armor rating and use the diadem of the savant (circlet that's considered light armor so doesn't break perks), as it looks decent.

Cool! I didn't know it was light armor! I often don't like the Stormcloak officer helmet because it looks weird with the Savior hide IMO, but it's the only "animal" helmet.

Imo the best looking armors are the steel plate and branded iron when it comes to heavy armor, and probably nightningale for my favorite light armor.

I love the way Ebony weapons look. And I like how individual pieces in Ebony armor set look, but I hate the way Ebony Armor looks when you have the whole set on.

I like the look of Steel Plate Armor set best, then Daedric, then Wolf Armor.

I agree, the ebony battleaxe and mace look the best IMO. The gauntlets and boots look fine, the helmet doesn't look good with the chest plate, feels to small.

I've found that Guild Master's armor is just 'me'.
I try others from time to time, and to level my heavy skill I am wearing Orcish (looks great on a Khajiit), but I just love wearing my Guild Master's armor. Fits my character perfectly, and I personally love the look of it (hoodless).

I like Stormcloak armor and the mage's hood. The look is sneaky cool, a perfect fit for TG, DB and even MG.

Orcish without a doubt, the helmet makes it.

A lot of the armour in the game is let down by the helmets, they just look wrong to me. I'm using Steel Plate at the moment, which looks great, but I have to have the Orcish Helmet. I really like the look of the Ancient Nord Helmet though, if it just didn't have the horns, blast those stupid horns.
