If they did something like this then they need skyrim coffee to stay awake without weak penalties...i guess skooma and moon sugar would work but then you would be another dirty skooma fiend

I really like this idea.

Suffer small skill penalties if you stay awake. Either sleep or use skooma...but if you use skooma you get different penalties.

This could be really cool if done properly.

Hi chastity! Hope your week is going along great.

so you could die if you slept outside? that is hardcoe.

And why not? Why should death be circumscribed to indoor locations? If indeed Skyrim is bandit riden, wouldn't that promote the chance of you being assaulted while in your conffy bed roll? Makes sense to me. If you're going to benefit from camping, might as well endure the nuisances.

As long as we're at it, let's add in a feature for peeing and pooping. Imagine being in a boss fight where you need everything going for you, and then suddenly, those rotten pine warbler eggs you had for breakfast kick in.

Hi there Wolfgrin! Good to see you.

Hate to break it to you. It's already been suggested. And if, regretably, memory serves me well I recall a female moderator even alluding to the possibility of extending such hardcoe mode to the monthly bodily functions peculiar to women. Enough said.

Hi again!

Oh dear.

She was being sarcastic. Then again, so were you. The three of us were being sarcastic, whitout fully realizing how un-sarcasm-friendly the internet really is.

As long as I amuse myself, I'm good.

Seriously, having penalties for not eating and sleeping would be a nice addition to the game. Food is everywhere, so eating is no problem. Even most destinations have beds, including ice caves (go figure). I liked many of the ideas put forth in an earlier post in this thread. I also agree that it should be an option, as some will find it an annoyance.

And constipation, and std's, and allergies, and toothaches, and ingrown toenails, and broken bones, and cuts and lacerations, and money that actually weighs something so you could add usurers to the game who'd sell usury notes in differing denominations, redeemable for reduced prices in distant towns, and for more as you approach the notes' origins, and more than one type of currency so the poor usurers could be money changers, with each hold having its own coins and mints, and deadly paper cuts, and a "time sense" skill so we could remove the automatic knowing of time, throw in a "direction sense" and yank the map out entirely, and housecats (where are the housecats?) who could give you cat scratch fever, and growing hair and nails, and one night stands, and prostitution, and actual tailors so you could at least minimally design your own clothing / armor / weapons, and taxes, tariffs, tolls, roads and bridges that collapse in heavy weather, and falling trees for you camping types, and getting more than a hide and a bit of meat from game animals (sheesh, lousy skinning skills or what?)....

Yeah, let's do it.

I do not use the wait feature in game as I sleep at inns or my home if I want a store to open. Having a negative outcome for not sleeping is a really poor idea to be forced upon ALL players, just like in the game bully or 'canis canem edit' you HAD to go to sleep before a certain time and it really ruined the fun at times.
