What we want from Skyrim: DLC, Fixes and Updates

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:28 pm

Personaly I would like to see stories in the current game brought up. Things like maybe ' The Return of the Dwemer ' DLC or maybe you could find out how they disappeared. Perhaps ' Revenge of the Falmer ' and you can choose to help or stop them.

I think riding Dragons would be cool aswell but Im not quite sure how that would work. Maybe have your own dragon that can be customized with armor and different shouts it can use. Could be that dragon you capture in the main story.

My character is a Werewolf so I'm not sure about having the same for vampires because I don't know what it would be like, but Werewolf Armour - come on you know it sounds good. And if you don't want it, don't wear it. I think a werewolf storyline would be good too, like a war against the vampires ( maybe thats a bit too Underworld filmish ) or a tribe that you can join and do stuff with, I don't know.

The last thing is Online play. Now I don't really know the difference between Co-Op and Multiplayer, I thought they were the same, but I think Skyrim should be online. I know alot of people are now going to hate me for saying that as I've seen it happen in different forums where someone has suggested online play in Skyrim ( I don't really understand what the problem is ) but hear me out before you start hating me :

I think there should be normal single player campaign AND another online section at the main menu that people can CHOOSE to play. This online should be about 4 player co-op maybe ? With item sharing, swaping, selling etc and no more stupid and pathetic AI followers like Vilkas who starts a conversation with me whenever Im in Whiterun. The only problem I see with this is stealing from houses but maybe visitors would not be allowed to take items ?

Most of all, longer quests YEAH more and better cinematic finishing moves YEAH more armour and weapons YEAH and Vilkas to learn to take a hint I don't like you Vilkas, nothing personal.

If you think Im completely wrong or confused then please correct me, otherwise I'd like to hear your ideas

For your first point, I don't think Bethesda would release any DLC that changes the current world now. They would probably just release some DLCs in new lands. They've released one DLC in fallout 3 that changes the main game world, but all other DLCs for fallout 3 are in new areas.

As for the riding dragon part, believe me, if Bethesda does release something like that in a paid DLC, they'll get flamed by the PC players and that DLC will become the horse armor for skyrim.
Because right now there are already some mods that deal with riding dragons or becoming a dragon, though not perfect at the moment. By the time Bethesda releases that DLC, however, these mods would have been polished and might even outshine the paid DLC Bethesda's releasing.

They are releasing a vampire campaign this time mainly because the core game lacks quests that relate to vampirism. For werewolf there's already a whole quest line dedicated to it. I don't think they are going to release another werewolf DLC.

Online, that is impossible for skyrim DLC.

Last, longer quests- yes, the new DLC, more and better cinematic finishing moves- probably in patches, new armors and weapons- yes along the DLCs, vilkas to learn to take a hint- probably not in any DLCs or patches, but mods will do.

I would hope we dont see the 'Return of the Dwemer' i kind of like the whole; they all went missing for unknown reasons, well most people seem to have a very good idea about it -seems very Amelia Earhart to me- . Plus i like going round there ruins and seeing the sort of things they had invented when they existed. If they were going to do it then it would have to be a whole new game to justify it -sort of like the return on the dragons-. As for the falmer, there are Snow Elf Prince files that were part of patch 1.6 so he's expected to be in Dawnguard. I'm not too sure how you could focus a good size DLC on them however as they are now small twisted creatures, however if you look at my sig you can see i've thought about it.

I would again really hope they dont do an "online section", TES games were built around this single player RPG style which would be torn apart with this, plus it would meaning cutting content from those who can't or don't want to play the online section. In fact with TES:O coming out soon fans are already split by that, personally i think it has the potential to be decent but also the potential to be dreadful, plus with it being a PC game only any fans on 360/PS3 will be lost if any of the story is made canon.

Oh and welcome to the forums heres a fishystick: http://images.uesp.net/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg

Bethesda is proud to announce the Odahviing armour pack!!! Thats right for only 800 MS pts you can now pimp your aleady invulnerable dragon with Steel armour! This will be out on xbox first for 30 days before going live to PC and PS3. Also 10,000 lucky forum memebers will be invited to particpiate in beta Testing this new peice of DLC!

Joking but I have a strange feeling that dwemmer might feature in a full new game as the main quest... Just a feeling I have.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I can see my ideas were a bit ... um, impossible. I've just looked up Dawngaurd too and I'm happy with the Dragon weapons and Werewolf tree thingymabob. I still think werewolves could be improved quite a bit though, combat is quite rubbish and I don't understand why people arent scared of an actual werewolf until it howls ? Crazy skyrim people too brave for teir own good.
And I've just realised you can't wear Greybeard robes, I think thats easy enough to do. ( Even though theyre not even that good but thats not the point I just want to be able to have them, maybe improved shouts abilities ? ) I think there needs to be more armour , some people are saying that will come with Dawngaurd but I can't find any proof of that.

is it possible for you to make that writing a bit smaller??

The dawnguard are known to have there own unique armor, and its suspected there may be a few more.

return of the dwemer is a definate must have. We need to see them or what happened to thier disappearance. I think they used an elder scroll and got propelled into the future a bit like alduin. That or the snow elves have turned the tide and got the dwemer working for them :)

Its heavily suspected & hinted that while working on the heart of lorkan with the tools of kagrenac.. Keening,Sunder,Wraithguard.. the whole race was "teleported" to one of the outer realms..
Spoiler
There was one "survivor" Yagrum Bagarn, who if i remember correctly said he was exploring another realm and when he got back all the other dwarves were gone... i was really hoping that he would return in some future game -originally in morrowind-

TES games were built around so many things that don't even excist in Skyrim, the series have already been changed. I have wanted to see multiplayer in TES since Morrowind, nowdays I don't really care - but I used to want it.

Tell me, how exactly would Skyrim change for you, if co-op was an option?

If co-op was an option then :

No more stupid AI followers that get lost or die
Me and my brother and friends could do quests
Item sharing and selling with friends
Me and my friends as Werewolves hunting in a pack

And I don't really understand why playing a game alone could be better than playing with other people. Im sure there is a reason as people are saying it would ruin the game and tear the world and things, but I don't understand it.

I hope the Dwemer stay gone: a 'return' would rob them of a lot of their mystery.
I'd love some DLC surrounding their ruins or history but please, don't encourage them to ruin my favourite mystery. :(

I haven't played any games before Oblivion though - it could be that they already have said a lot of it.

What I want:
-Rideable Dragons.
-1-4 player CO-OP.
-Arrow forging/crafting.
-Armor Customization. For examble being able to add wolf pelts onto my Daedric armor.
-I know this would be a very late time to add this. But I want 2 more beast races. Which would be a Wolf and a Fox.

~Mostly the way the quests are designed, nearly every game that has a "co-op" element decides to make missions/puzzles based on co-op play.. although they are possible to complete single player it takes away from the enjoyment when you know theres suppose to be someone wlese doing it.
~Plus as my post mentioned there would be quite a bit of content that would be hidden from those who do not want to, or can't, play the "co-op" sections, and i dont want to have to pay full price for a game where theres content i can't use -not through lack of skill, i quite like having to work to unlock stuff-.
~ And of course there is the fact that the way the game world and its mechanics work are desinged for single player, if it was possible to make them co-op -which i don't believe it is- would require re-writing pretty much everything in the game, from the radiant quests to how NPCs react to what you done.

Its hard to say how it would change for me, because in order to do something like that would require changing the game almost entirely.
