What Will The DLC Look Like?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 4:25 am

I couldn't find anything whilst searching so I decided to open a new thread although I can't imagine that this hasn't been addressed before.

What will the Fallout: New Vegas DLC look like? I don't believe there are many people who could possibly answer this question yet but before I even consider buying this game I must know if Bethesda intends to screw customers the same way EA (Mass Effect, Dragon Age) or Activision (Call Of Duty series) are doing it.

In my opinion the Fallout 3 DLC was worth the money I spent on it but I would never pay $2,50 for a nice set of clothes, an extra companion or a new set of missions, NEVER!

Because of the G.E.C.K. I doubt that Bethesda would even consider having Obsidian produce such micro-DLC (although they already announced pre-order bonuses) but as I said: I need to be sure.

I think it's safe to say what Bethesda did with FO3 is what they'll try to model their DLC after.

Hopefully they use Point Lookout as the example. Not my favorite (that would be the pitt) but it's probably what most people would consider the meatiest experience out of all of them.

I think it's safe to expect DLC akin to Fallout 3. Maybe bigger. Perhaps we'll get an expansion. We really don't know. The only thing we do know is that it will be made.

With the exception of that Horse Armor crap they tried in Oblivion, they haven't quite gone the lengths of some companies with DLC. I would expect a few Fallout 3 type DLCs and a GOTY edition down the road.

It amazes me. The large amounts of threads started daily, asking questions even the devs dont know, about a game that isn't released for another month. Not to mention dlc is probably 6+ months past that. How can any user here actually answer that??

Because they'll release the game in a months time. They have long since started on planning and developing the first DLC. A dev could answer my question.

who's to say that they will answer your thread and not someone else's. Maybe a little time after the release, you should have plenty of re-playability, I always thought DLC's where for when the game was getting old.

I hope its big and meaty! :P

I highly doubt a 'Mass effect 2' would be repeated by any other company, mainly because of how unpopular it was with its fans. This applies especially with Bethesda, as they integrate with their fans fairly well over these forums, and listen to the opinions and ideas of the customer..... (welll,.... they do as far as i know anyway...)

Im hoping for DLC that adds a new area with a couple of new quests. I dont want any linear dungeon crawls like OA and Zeta. Especially not ones that have stupidly overpowered rewards at the end and/or masses of loot throughout.

I enjoyed Operation Anchorage, it's just a shame it's ability to be canon is at question due to General Chases possible PTSD as the scientists indicate. :sadvaultboy:

I'd like to see a pack that offered a large underground labyrinth to explore. Something sizeable enough to support a merchant or two and maybe even some other adventurers/explorers to deal/compete with.

If I wait three years for a DLC, I'd better be weeping tears of gold and the sky raining down choir music when I first play it.

Oh boy, you ask much. I'd be satisfied for a retail release of something similiar in size, but updated in every possible way and taking into account my and other similiar peoples hopes for the series.

most likely they'll stick with what they did in fallout 3 having a new area quests and items, i don't see them doing micro transaction because they piss a lot of people off and could easily be added with actual dlc.

It's not asking much, it's just, if three years go by before a DLC, I don't want some half asses MZ styled DLC

I just hope they make it like Point Lookout that was the best DLC of them all. Also I said this before, I would like it if they had some quest that leads me back to the wasteland So I don't feel that I'm limited to just one area. And I can see it now, any new companions in the DLC they won't be able to go back to the wasteland with you. They going to say something like I can't leave here cause I'm on house arrest. I just hope their DLC will improve the main game not just add a new area and a few new weapons.

I hope by the Wasteland you don't mean the Capital Wastes, because if you do I predict you will be thoroughly disappointed.

I'd really like to venture into NCR controlled areas, like Maxson, Shady Sands, or back to the NCR town from Fallout 2.

I'd cry tears of pure happy if we ventured into The Glow or Navarro or Mariposa or something like that.

No I ment the Mojave. I don't want to return back to the capital waste, as fun as it was, time to move on.
