What would you make with Survival Skill?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 12:40 pm

Being able to make armour would be sweet, like you could craft armour with special effects kinda thing.
Being able to make poison stuff more easily (i mean how hard is it to dip a melee weapon in venom?).

idk what else really.

I think either the quantity or the application allowance per poison recipe should be increased. 1 for 1 seems expensive.

A ghillie suit

A trap to catch geckos like some bait and then one of those shotgun traps or a bear trap.

A temporary tent or sleeping bag made from coyote fur.

Some sort of rag and cleaning kit to clean weapons with maybe made out of gecko hide for the rag to lay all the parts onto, sticks and coyote fur for cleaning brushes and juice from mantis eggs to use as a lubricant. One cleaning kit per weapon, and it increases the weapons damage and reload speed for a certain number of shots.

Desert Salad healed the most HP and was the easiest to make, I made that a lot.

It also allowed me to unlock the Desert Survivalist achievement since it heals like +15hp over 20+ seconds with 100 survival.

Only 0.01% steam users have unlocked that achievement and it was knocked up a point when I unlocked, maybe I'm the 1st to get it. :celebration:

I would probably try and make like a Deathclaw armor! But Deathclaws don't drop any hides... Man that would be one insane piece of armor though.

Id really love to see, hot sauce, as a poison, a flaming poison that causes my target to be set on fire if they eat it or are stung with he poison. Maybe fire gecko glands and radscorpion poison.

And id love to see a way to plant seeds of indigenous edible plants in the Mojave and grow them for myself (in my secret hide-a-way cave).

Wanting to create tribal spears, bows and arrows, and slingshots is all well and good, but how useful will they be when you aren't hunting squishy animals and have to fight fully armored enemies? Your spears will MAYBE dent their armor. Arrows will bounce off, and slingshots will barely tickle.

I'd settle for a steak - T-Bone - medium rare.
Salad, Italian dressing
Fully loaded baked potato
Sangria to drink.
Don't think it's surviving if I can't have that meal at least once a week :D

You know, I just though, i'd just love to be able to make my own shiv, or at least my own cat eye.

Also, I've noticed the extreme lack of craft-able armor in the game, so maybe, a set of deathclaw hide boots that make me less tired when I run/fast travel. What about a sack of some kind that give me extra carrying weight to store food items. Or a perk that gives me the ability to see close by survival items highlighted?

Oh, and make a explosive arrow to shoot at enemies. Along with a bow.

A blowgun would be fantastic for poisoning targets at distance.

I'd love to be able to craft my own spike covered armor for a H2H character. Imagine coating those spikes in poison and giving your enemy a nice big friendly bearhug.

Dunno if its strictly survival but I would like to tape dynamite to a crossbow-bolt. Or make arrows/bolts that have exploding head with a contact trigger.

Shooting a normal bolt with dynamite would have the extra fun of the bolt being attached to the target and explosion occuring after a couple of seconds. Human might have a chance of removing the bolt or dynamite before explosion - unless it is sizzling in your back...

I really think there should be a variety of x-bows in Fallout. Those that cannot afford firearms, ammo or energy-weapons would surely make those for hunting & fighting. Bolts would be cheap to make for hunting. No need to use that precious ammo. Metal springs, metal tubes would be good materials for making bows.

Combining X-bow basic structure with advanced parts that are normally not used for weapons. For example a pressure bottle for having a self-load mechanism. This could be pumped to max by using a lever and you would have enough pressure for reloading 10 shots or so.

X-bows would be good as traps with a trigger wire.

Poison use with bolts, of course.

You could even build huge and very powerful ones for defense and combine to those some scifi-tech that is normally in civilian use. Using civilian tech from Fallout world and combining this with peoples knowledge of things mechanical would add nicely to the flavor of the game.
