i love the soundtrack as is, but if i had to make my own it would be full of really great classical music, any thing haunting, not gunna wright every piece, bach, beethoven, chopin, rachmaninov, and lots of others have great pieces that go very well, i find this one quite haunting, goes well with a snowy hike up a mountain during the night

I like to combine the vanilla music with Oblivion and Morrowind music.

The original one. Anything else is like eating a donut with sliced pickled eggs on top.

I actually have the music turned off but if I were to have to pick a soundtrack I would pick something Post-Rock, like Isis for example.

Niamh's soudtrack is however considerably darker...

This first one isn't really Skyrim's Norse theme, but if you listen to the lyrics, it fits the game extremely well.

The rest are somewhat Skyrim-esque

I listened to a lot of Tristania while I was playing Ivory (rest-in-backup-folder, my dear, inaccessible lizard *sniff*), now it's my usual Skyrim music. No real idea why.

The original and nothing else.

I don't mind the original score for the game. It's a bit over the top when it comes to trying to sound "epic", but that's just me. I wouldn't mind adding in some less "epic" sounding tracks to the game.

Jeremy Soule score is a little masterpiece and one of the strenghts of the game in my opinion.

Perhaps a little "redundant" and "lord of the rings" in some cases due to producers -Todd Howard  requests rather than a composer's choice -i suppose.

I haven'y listened to music while playing a game in ages. The original music is okay, I wish there was more of it. If I did throw something it, I think it would be either Amputechture or Bedlam In Goliath. TMV FTW :bonk:

The song that got me psyched up before the release was "If I Die In Battle" by van Canto.

The original score is pretty darn good, even after 400+ hours, but anything by Amon Amarth would be my alternate choice.

The original is great for now, maybe next year for my future modded playthroughs I'll download some beautiful fan made piano ambiental pieces like I did for Oblivion.

With them?
Nothing.
I personally don't listen to them (not my mug of beer), but I don't see anything wrong with them.
With them fitting Skyrim?
I simply don't see it.
There is nothing about them which reminds me of Skyrim.
They are simply too... sweet for Skyrim and Nords.
DragonForce would have a much better chance with Oblivion imo.

I'm gonna say alot of DragonForce.

Definitely not this^^ (a mass of melodic speed metal guitaring just doesn't do it for me - reminds me of the 80's re-hashed for the 90's)

Something more with multi-national folk influences.

Enigma was good.

That or maybe something like Ministry for the Daedra
