What do you do when one of your followers die?

Post » Sat Jun 23, 2012 1:43 am

Lydia died while we were fighting a group of hagraven and followers. I dont reload (It would make the game less then it is) but i did get so upset i stopped playing for a week.

I did the same thing once. LOL I'm not the only one.

Every person I choose to take on as a follower recieves a personalized silver ring (with their name on it of course) from me to signify my acceptance of their service as my Vassal. When one of them dies I take the ring to be put in a place of honour in my home.

As for the body: I raise it as a Revenant and find a nice spot for them to have their final resting place. There I use Wall of Flames to give them a "Viking Funeral". Once the flames die down I say a little prayer to the ashes and wish them honour and glory until the day I can see them again in Sovngarde.

I've used Belrand for the first time on my current playthrough and I've come to like him quite a lot. But...er... you do realize he's a Light Armor guy, right? Giving him Heavy isn't really playing to his strengths.
I wanted a Dark Knight to be the protector to my Assassin.

Forget humans - dogs are the true followers; fast, fearless and a complete pest deciding the best way to wait outside a room is by horizontally placing his hardy form at the door.

Unafraid and un-a feared they bark at dragons and give rabies to ancient nords. Sadly it was not to last, like dog meat in fallout - courage shared the same fate. I savored his ribs in tears.

You just gave me an idea, I think I'll start doing the ring thing, it'll make me feel more attached to them =)

If it's in a cave or something like that, I'll position their body and place a flower beside them. I've only had one die, to a Dragon Priest, so I don't have too much experience.

Haven't had any die on me in a lengthy combat. Usually they die by accident (ahem) or the enemy gets a lucky blow in. I just reload..

Sven died from poision in a Falmer ruin once. I dragged him out of the water, and that was that. I had him since I started the game, so I figured I at least owed him a non-bloated corpse.

Oh, and I left him there naked.

My Argonian has a hoarding problem and has started to keep everything he finds in secure locations. This also means the ash piles of fallen comrades

I have an immortal follower. Well, I used to. I lost her somewhere and can't find her. I tried to get Lydia to follow me but she said "looks like you've already got someone" the other follower has my daedric artifacts too. She's the dark brotherhood initiate. How can I find her?

I've grown close to Jenassa and used to be close with Faendal but he died on me. I placed a single Nightshade pedal and wished that Sithis judge him fairly in the Void.

I give them a moment of silence before equipping Namira's Ring and eating them so that, for a time, our adventures together shall continue! About 1 more in game day I believe. If I can I'll try the Perma Thrall on their corps. That don't work, I just leave em where they drop. Maybe I'll move them next time the fall...

Cut them up and chuck em in the cook pot. Follower stew- follower, Black-Briar mead, salt pile, potato- restore 1 point of health per second for 720 seconds, restore 1 point of stamina per second for 720 seconds, make Namira giggle for 720 seconds.

I rarely take on followers, but when I do, I've usually made a full enchanted set of weapons, armor, and apparel for them. I make a set for each follower. I leave it with them if they fall, out of respect. I give them a moment of silence and place them into a respectable pose, then my usually calm and collected Altmer goes into a violent psychotic rage, flinging fireballs left and right, incinerating every living thing within a square mile, friend or foe.

My Nord does the same thing, without the phychotic rage.

My Imperial leaves them as they are. No mourning. No respect. ("People die, stuff happens" sort of attotude.)

My Khajiit loots their body and moves on. Except other Khajiit.

I play the game very differently with different characters.
