What is your favorite CityHold?

Riften and the Rift. I love sneaky characters and the enviroment of the Rift is interesting to me. The Reach and Markarth would be my second choice.

My sentiments exactly. Opposite ends of the province, but both awesome places, for different reasons. All of my characters have been thieves primarily and so call Riften home. But I also love fighting the forsworn, those guys are awesome, IMO. Markarth's an awesome city, although it can get confusing, being so vertical.

I can't help but love the Rift. It's the only hold in Skyrim that really has character beyond "tundra/plains" or the Reach's/Lower Eastmarch's inhospitable badlands. And it reminds me of Michigan in the fall, including Detroit, so there's that.

Solitude is the best I think. Nice people, location, and safe.
I would say Markarth, but its forsworn terrorist problem puts me off.

As for Hold; The Reach.

Going by looks I like Markarth best, followed by Riften for the whole Thieves' Guild background. Generally I like The Rift the best, regarding holds, but every now and then I also love wandering off into Eastmarch and run around the hot tubs and all.

I love Whiterun, it's such a beautiful place with so much to do. Plus there's so much to explore throughout the hold.

City Solitude. I also like Markarth, I have always mined Dwemer architecture, its a close second to Solitude, i do wish the towns was bigger however.

Holds Haafinger, Reach, and the Rift. Like all three pretty much equally. What region is it in the North with the icy craggy land in the north what hold is that?
The Pale. I haven't really explored there to the fullest, as it always seems so.......Barren?
Markarth is my favorite city, the waterfalls are awesome. I don't really have a favorite hold, more like favorite places; the valleys of the rift, the shoreline outside high gate ruins at sunset, the area between riverwood and Falkreath, Windhelm at night and the lake beneath Solitude just to name a few.

The area around riften is amazing, especially when walking through the fall-themed forests in 3rd person. Great job bethesda.

Riften is however quite small(as with almost all cities) but u don't mind.

My favorite holds are Whiterun and the Pale. I don't know why, but I just like adventuring around them. Solitude is an awesome city, Riften too.
The only hold I might not like is the Reach, along with its capital. Looks so peaceful, but is so darn creepy when you look closely.

City: Solitude
Hold: the Reach, 2nd the Rift

Solitude actually feels like a city, and one of the only places where residents don't complain about how terrible it is.

The area around Markarth is a good blend of everything. The wilderness around whiterun is kinda flat and empty. Markarth is gorgeous but hard to live in (literally -- stone beds!)

I like Solitude because it is a big city with nice architecture and Haafingar itself because of the useful ingredients(Death Bell, Canis Root and Swamp Fungal Pod). I also like WInterhold, since there is the College and I like its rough terrain.

I did like Markarth, but everybody dies. (Tried to find spoiler tags, but failed.)

The Rift is pretty awesome.

With a margin Whiterun for me. I love the architecture, and the layout of the city, it do not feel small nor hard to navigate. The three areas feel natural and separated, not as in Winhelm where I am still not sure what part of the city is which area. Supposed to be four, I only see Grey Quarters and the rest.

Is it just me or is Whiretun quite heavily inspired by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rohan#Settlements in The Two Towers?

Dawnstar.

Big city wise, Windhelm is cool, if only because of the weather effects.
