What is your favorite CityHold?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 11:11 am

My favorite City/Hold is Whiterun, because of the environment there. I absolutely love the whole tundra landscape. After that i really like Solitude because of the architecture (It kind of reminds me of morrowind's Forts),but not the Haafingar hold itself cause i just get lost there everytime.

So what are your favorite Cities/Holds?

Your sig says otherwise ;)

Anyway my favourite hold is the reach and my favourite Town is Markarth. I see no cities in Skyrim.

I only hate the annoying people there, not the town itself.

Markarth for the architecture. Whiterun for the layout. But, to be honest, after 100 hours of gameplay, I still haven't been to every town.

My favorite hold is hands down the Reach. Favorite own is not so clear. It use to be Markarth, but my interest in the place took a dive after I realized it was all facade work. Solitude annoys me. Windhelm is cold and uninviting. Riften and Whiterun are ok, but they just feel so small. Ignoring Falkreath's regurgitation of architecture, I do like it's setting. It's hard to say.

Whiterun definitely feels most like home for me. And the surrounding tundra is also a great area.

I like the general civilized atmosphere of Solitude, as well as the feeling of being a castle town. I love the landscape of Whiterun hold; I could run through the tundra for hours. Some of my favorite landscape, though, is in Dawnstar; I love the wintry port town. It kind of reminds me a bit of the last town encountered in Fable 1. I like the layout of Markarth, but I'm actually not a huge fan of Dwemer architecture, advanced though it may be. Riften would be pretty if it wasn't, well, Riften, and although the volcanic hotspring/tundra of The Rift is fun to explore occasionally, it mars the arboreal beauty of he rest of the hold. Winterhold could be fun if they would just buck up and rebuild the town, extend it southwards, maybe. Stubborn Nords.

All told, I'd have to say that my favorite city and hold would be Dawnstar and The Pale.

I'm pretty partial to the city of Dawnstar.

Very underappreciated, and its a pretty interesting place rife with strange stories.

Something about that Tower overlooking the city and the ship that never sails in the harbor just sends my imagination spiralling off into strange tangents.

You should go there, and stroll down the beach eastwards.

So many neat things about that place, even an invisible chest.

I like all the holds although Whiterun is one of my least favorite. Surprising I know, it's probably because I don't like the people of Whiterun. I pretty much hate almost everyone in Whiterun, especially the companions.

Riften and the Rift. I love sneaky characters and the enviroment of the Rift is interesting to me. The Reach and Markarth would be my second choice.

i like whiterun, but i don't use it very often, Breezehome is just way too small for my taste, if it was bigger id be there.

City Solitude. I also like Markarth, I have always mined Dwemer architecture, its a close second to Solitude, i do wish the towns was bigger however.

Holds Haafinger, Reach, and the Rift. Like all three pretty much equally. What region is it in the North with the icy craggy land in the north what hold is that?

Favorite City- I would have to say a tie between Solitude and Riften.

Favorite Hold- Tie between the Reach and the Rift, I love both locations.

Right now for my characters, Whiterun seems most like home.

However, Morthal is also very appealing.

I really like them all except Riften, which I find depressing. If I had to pick, it'd be either Markarth or Windhelm, becuase I like their fortified feel (especially Markarht, nice to know some 4 by 12 meter walls are keeping the Forsworn out ).

Markarth as of Cities.
Riverwood as of Towns.
I like Winterhold's region the most though.

I feel as if with Whiterun they were trying to make it similar to Rohan from LoTR, but maybe that's just me.

I often drift between homes but my favorites are Markarth and Whiterun. (I think Whiterun's house is too small, though).

I often

Induct Faendal into the Blades (You can recruit people for the Blades without killing Paarthurnax)
and sometimes use his house as Riverwood is a beautiful place and I think he has a neat house.
