what is your winter wear?

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 9:52 am

Most of the time I'll just add a hoodie to my usual wear. Sometimes a knit hat too.

Usually, I just wear a sweater or hoodie with one of my regular shirts underneath, regular pants, and regular shoes. On especially nippy days, I'll wear a vest, warmer shoes, or ski team jacket with a winter hat of some description. On freezing days ( -30°C or colder,) I'll wear a sweater or hoodie, skiing jacket or my super-toasty Canada Goose Jacket, gloves, hat, boots, and possibly a scarf.

Ugh. I hate clothes threads on this forum - everyone wears manky old hoodies and beat up commando boots in varying shades of black.

Today to work I wore a mid-gray two-piece suit, a white shirt with french cuffs and sterling silver cufflinks, a navy silk tie with white dots, black calf oxfords (dees r shooz), a blue checkered cashmere scarf, a dark gray single-briasted wool overcoat and black leather gloves lined with cashmere.

Tomorrow I plan on wearing a navy suit with a light blue striped shirt with barrel cuffs, a burgundy silk tie in a loose grenadine weave, dark brown suede double monk-straps (deez are also shooz), a light grey cashmere/merino wool blend scarf with subtle red and yellow over-check, the same overcoat as today, and mid-brown leather gloves with cashmere lining.

Casual-wear this weekend will be a navy pea-coat with a red cashmere scarf, slim, straight-legged jeans in dark, raw denim, and some brown suede chukka boots made by the fine English boot-maker Crockett & Jones.

I like clothes.

EDIT: Lord I sound like a pretentious git. Excuse me for that, I'm currently sampling the delights of some rather exquisite New Zealand chardonnay. And by sampling I mean guzzling.

shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. Occasionally a light jacket if needed.

Also: What's Winter?

^This, except without the jacket. "Winter" here is heavenly, summer (which I'm in now) is a hellish mosquito-filled sauna.

Nothing wrong with having higher standards in an area you're interested in (lord knows just about everyone here is the same way with games), although the "deez r shoos" comments *are* a little much.

Often I just wear jeans and a t-shirt and I have an old jacket. I have sweaters but there are often times I don't bother with them. Cold doesn't bother me that much. I live in Canada and worked in a freezer.

I love watching my co-workers (now fellow students) freak out because I am outside with just a t-shirt. It only svcks when its windy

Jeans, a T-Shirt, and my orange and blue school Letterman Jacket. Sometimes shorts or another jacket. We have very fickle weather in Florida. One day it will be 65F and the next it will drop to 29F then go right back up into the 70s the next day, it's ridiculous.

Fluffy down jacket, hat, gloves, scarf, knee-high fur-lined winter shoes... the whole deal. Eww snow and cold. :(

It was 70F here today if it makes you feel better. :D

Basically the same as summer with the addition of a black Carhartt jacket with a hood...oh and insulated underwear...and good gloves.
Michigan doesn't have the fiercest winter weather in the world, but it does get pretty cold and snowy.

[edit] Oh, and have a nice summer there, those in Australasia.

My Nan knitted me an oversized cream chunky cable-knit jumper last year and I love it. :D I originally saw the exact same jumper in Topshop for over £80, my Nan took one look at it and said she could make that easily for a Christmas present. I think it cost her £15 for the wool and that's it.

I wish I could knit/sew. :sadvaultboy: It would save me so much money.

I have decided to wear my fully clothed attire in the house now, socks, trousers, Tshirt and a jumper because I have caught the cold again this year at the same time, hopefully it will vanish before Christmas again like every years, its an annual thing.

I get a new winter coat every year (im fashions [censored]) and generally a new pair of gloves, fingerless gloves (for iPhonin), scarf and boots. Since I've lost weight this year though I've bought a LOT of new winterwear - mainly knitted dresses, heavy skirts and sweaters. I rarely have anything longsleeved though which is becoming a bit of an issue...

Especially with the latest weather we're having :cold: ... I made a snow angel last night but trying it on ice has a few set backs.

You just need to lie there for a REALLY long time so your body temperate melts the ice.

A tshirt and jeans with a decent jacket. When its really cold I have a t shirt, jeans, a flanel, aforementioned jacket, a bandanna over my face, and gloves.
