What is your zodiac sign?

Post » Mon Sep 12, 2011 6:52 am

I'm really interested in Astrology. It helps me define myself and find answers to some questions I get lost in. I don't follow daily horoscopes, but overall believe in Zodiac facts and compatibilities. I'm a Cancer, actually a Gemini-Cancer cusp, so I show some traits from Gemini as well. I feel that my sign really represents me: I value family on top of all, I'm overly-sensitive, creative, moody, nagging, homey, possessive...

What is your zodiac sign? Do you think it represents you? Do you believe in Astrology?

Capricorn. Going by a quick Google search, a lot of traits fit me, a lot don't. Seems vague enough to cover anyone that happens to be a Capricorn.

Aquarius but does it matter? astronomy and astrology were seperated by the 17th century for goodness sake Christiaan Huygens (a Dutch Astronomer in born in 1629) wrote "And as for the Judicial Astrology, that pretends to foretel what is to come, it is such a ridiculous, and oftentimes mischievous Folly, that I do not think it fit to be so much as named." If you want to be contempary Stpehen Hawking and Richard Dawkins have said on record to say its rubbish.

I don't really believe that Zodiacs have been switched. If you're joking that's a different story...

Cancer. And I personally find very little similarity with the cancerian traits.

:lmao: Totally going to picture a mudcrab every time I think of my starsign now!

I too am Cancer :) Apparently it's all shifted now (starsigns have different date spans) and it is claimed some people have "different" starsigns, which I think is rubbish, you are the one you are born under.

It's all nonsense anyway, so is one definition really more valid than another? :P

My star sign is Cancer.

Astrology is bull. All of it. A guy I know that works at a major Irish newspaper says that random staff make up entries for the astrology section every week. Apparently this is the norm in most newspapers/magazines.

Cancer, which I more find a bad omen than a zodiac sign. No idea what cancer folks are, never read about astrology. Pseudoscience crap IMO.

David Mitchell the famous british comedian did it for a while for a womans magazine when he had finished university. He said on the tv program Would I lie to you that he just made it up.

Yes, I think daily horoscopes on the internet or in newspapers/magazines are BS too. I just believe in the Astrological traits, the ones you are born with and never change.

In Ireland any astrology sections in magazines or on TV have to carry the message 'For entertainment purposes only'. This also applies to those ads for tarot reading hotlines that usually charge about 3 quid an hour.

Do you have links to any research that backs up the idea of this? I'd be interested in reading some, but a quick Google search didn't turn up much.

I doubt much research would have been done recently, it was disproved 600 years ago lol

You guys need to have more faith. Just because it doesn't make sense that the constellation the sun was in on your birthday like 1,000 years ago determines your personality and what happens to you on a day-to-day basis doesn't mean it's not true.

This.

Why the hell would the stars I'm born under somehow dictate my personality, my relationships, and things like that? They're stars. Zodiac signs and horoscopes and things like that are just more examples of how humans think they're the center of the universe and everything is made for them.

Not really. I believe it because I want to, because it seems real to me, and because of my experiences. Just like some people believe in God, in different religions, or superstitions, and some don't, I believe in Astrology. I don't need convincing.
