''Gaming site Destructoid reports that ESRB has given New Vegas an M Rating or an 18 (UK Gamers) for numerous reasons including six, six with robots, and just generally more six. ''

They're trying to make it more mature like in FO2 where you could even star in a pormo.

You know there's a reason it's rated 18+

It's a mature game, it's Vegas, and the ESRB likes to slap six on everything, as far as I've seen.

Also, there was a thread remarkably similar to this, and apparently it got a little out of control, so it was locked. So, try to keep it clean.

Maybe six doesn't attract customers, but boobs, guns, violence, mutants and a good storyline do. All of that and more is in New Vegas.

You perhaps. But you have to believe it was the reason that some (or many, depending on the game) of the people bought, oh.......

Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball. Or Rumble Roses. Or any game with a hot female protagonist in some form of http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Stripperiffic outfit.

If there is a little suggested six in the game, fine if it makes it a bit more realistic, if it wasn't there I would still get the game.

I am going to remind you all that although the game may be rated 18, these forums are rated 13+ so please keep any posts suitable and appropriate.

Those games sold poorly. Females arnt at all lured in by six in advertisemants/games and they make up a gaming percentage. The percentage of video games buyers are not just pervy men.

That doesn't deny the fact that consumers are naturally more attracted to things that may have some sort of sixual presence. The saying isn't "Only six sells."

You seem to be missing that the point is that six Sells to a large number of people. Most women may not be included in that demographic which is attracted to six in videogames. You may not be included in that group. That doesn't mean it isn't a sizable group.

It also tends to create controversy which tends to create publicity and publicity is always good.

Those games sold poorly. Females arnt at all lured in by six in advertisemants/games and they make up a gaming percentage.

They sold poorly because they weren't good games and were targeted at a small niche. Younger females may not be influenced by suggestive content in media and advertising, but I can tell you from experience that older women are...albeit to a lesser degree than men are. Younger women respond very strongly to "teen idols" and such, and that is certainly a form of using six to sell things...it's just less explicit.

Also keep in mind that influence can be totally subconscious, and that things that are sixually suggestive to one person may not be to another.

There's a big difference between buying a game because of the sixually suggestive content (which I'm sure very few people do) and simply subconsciously paying more attention to certain media or advertising because most humans are at least marginally interested in sixual content, whether they want to admit it or not. As a marketing tool suggestive content works extremely well. It gets attention.

The percentage of video games buyers are not just pervy men.

Which percentage? Isn't it a little naive to say that only perverts and deviants are influenced by sixually suggestive content?

Your right, but why robot six? its just stupid.

I think it's intended to be humorous. You know, like a joke.
