it can't be that bad. aside from the gameplay flaws, are the technical ones still present? if it works better than the DLC for fallout 3, I'll be slightly impressed.

but only slightly...

I don't care, anymore. They aren't getting anything from me for this DLC, and I urge all other PC and PS3 players to do the same. They do it because people still buy it, but I've lost interest.

In order to get back at them, don't pre-order ANY of Bethesda's games. That includes RAGE, and Elder Scrolls V. There exclusivity agreement with Microsoft will undoubtedly branch off with those two games.

Yeah, I agree with this - it just isn't fair.

Also, I can't bring myself to play NV now. Every time I turn it on I have a horrible image of Bethesda counting piles of money and shaking microsofts hand.

It feels really petty of me, but I'm having the same problem. That the DLC apparently continues some of the plot set up in the original game, and foreshadows more stuff with the Other Courier in later DLC, makes me feel like I'm just doddering around playing an incomplete story here.

but blah blah not buying any more DLC/Bethesda games, whatever. Everyone says that and no one sticks to it, and they've become popular enough that a few disillusioned customers won't cost them too much.

this is actually a very stupid decision on their part. as i understand it the 360 and PC use the same file format. you know that someone is eventually going to post it on the interwebz. im willing to bet that people that normally would have paid for it arent going to want to wait 6 months to get it and willl cave and just pirate it. then when it is released finally on the PC they are going to be "i just played it, why would i want to buy it now?"

im not entirely convinced that microsoft just threw a bunch of money at them. it might be that bethesda had a contract with microsoft for GodFreakingaWfullLive for a certain number of games or time period. having the DLC exclusive might have been part of paying the penalty of dumping the agreement sort of like the fee you get if you terminate your phone service provider before the contract is up. im not entirely sure on this because apparently this isnt the only game with exclusive DLC but it would be nice to think that bethesda didnt [censored] itself out. its especially annoying to PC gamers cause they play the games the longest of all the platforms.

We're never getting it. The Fallout franchise will devolve into PC Users and PS3 users get an excluse DLC all to themselves and Xbox users will get an exclusive dlc to themselves that in the end leads to continuous fan wars until the great war hits, dropping bombs on the fans.

Why? Fan boys....Fan boys never change.

This is true.

Ya can't blame Beth for doing what they need to do to be a successful business. In order to make money, people are gonna get burned. Beth isn't here to cater to our every desires. They're here to make money, which I approve of, since more money for them means better quality games for us in the long run.

Just wondering about the DLC. My New Vegas is going throught Steam, because thats how its downloaded. I'm pretty sure all pc users have steam linked to their NV, however my question is if the DLC will be sent to Steam so we can get it? ( when the DLC does come out for pc of course.)

yup, I'm pretty sure that's how it works, although if I recall I think for a little while they had discs with a couple of the DLC's for Fallout 3, you just installed it from that. at least I think some people did that.

How could they not have announced the release dates for PC/PS3?

Why do they even do this? Seems odd that they would knowingly leave behind the PC/PS3 players for some extra cash from Microsoft.
One would think keeping their fans happy would be worth more.

This is very sad. To think you would want to release DLC to all gaming platforms if money was really the problem. I have all three platforms so don't say im crying about one platform or another. Why release it on three platforms and only kiss microsofts ass. Why would you want to buy it for pc or ps3 only to be treated like second best. I loved this game just like Fallout3 and Elder Scrolls IV even though it locks up every time i play again and again. WAY TO MAKE ME FELL LIKE A VALUED CUSTOMER

...since more money for them means better quality games for us in the long run.

Oblivion GOTY = $Millions$ - Buggy as hell - Bethesda leaves it to community mods to fix.
Fallout 3 GOTY = $Millions$ - Buggy as hell - (same engine) Bethesda leaves it to community mods to fix.
Fallout NV - $loads of cash$ - Buggy as hell - (same engine) Bethesda leaves it to community mods to fix.

Please tell me where the quality has improved because the pattern forces me to disagree.
If anything more sales makes them keep passing the quality control to the community...because they keep getting away with it.

I guess this is just a fact of life, business works this way. Microsoft obviously paid enough $$ to keep it exclusive. In the end you have three solutions, 1. Buy an xbox, 2. Wait the 6 months until its out on PS3 and PC, 3. Enter nerd rage mode and burst your brain into thousands of pieces.

Nice..

IMO.. Dead Money is weak.. don't fret.. play another game until it's released on PS3 or PC.. I got nothing out of the DLC other than the extra 5 levels and one or two perks (that I didnt' even use.. used the core perks I missed and not the new addon perks)..

Buy an Xbox if you really want it and are fiendin' that bad.. but.. in reality it's not a big loss.. I would have had more fun wandering the wasteland and not leveling past 30.. even tho I did most/all he quests prior.. I'd sitll have had omre fun exploring the few places I'd not been....

I'm still tempted to reload prior to Dead Money DLC and level in the wasteland and just forget about Dead Money.. I didn't get much out of it other than frustration.. the few uniques aren't worht the time.. and I need to reconsider what I chose verse the new perks.. but can do that killing deathclaws at Quarry Junction and not drowning in the furstration that is Dead Money..
