when is PC and PS3 getting Dead money?

Post » Thu May 26, 2011 10:10 pm

Oblivion GOTY = $Millions$ - Buggy as hell - Bethesda leaves it to community mods to fix.
Fallout 3 GOTY = $Millions$ - Buggy as hell - (same engine) Bethesda leaves it to community mods to fix.
Fallout NV - $loads of cash$ - Buggy as hell - (same engine) Bethesda leaves it to community mods to fix.

Please tell me where the quality has improved because the pattern forces me to disagree.
If anything more sales makes them keep passing the quality control to the community...because they keep getting away with it.

?? Community fixes, eh? I guess if they're helpful to you then go for it. But when the description says something like "fixed it so dogmeat doesn't have so many HP when you level up" it means that some arsehole has made a "creative" decision (the quotes mean I'm being sarcastic just in case you couldn't tell) to alter the game to their own liking. Anybody with access to the GECK can edit the scripts and what not to 'fix' the game if they want. For example, some people think it's a bug i FO3 that if you help the ghouls move in to tenpenny that they slaughter the residents anyways. If you read the scripts in the geck you'll see the actual dev comments that talk about the murder and the script which removes the NPCs from the game and adds their corpses to the basemant. In other words it was totally intentional. The community has hardly added anything of value regarding Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Oblivion has some good stuff but FO games do not. Oh wow! High res textures! Too bad the "artist" isn't an artist at all and their textures and bland and crappy. But hey, they're high res right! Oh look at these new hair models and faces. Never mind the fact that they look like plastic and the models are anime rejects with loli-ish designs. I guess a lot of people like that crap but those same people like child pormography so that isn't saying much. The "community" is a joke. If you want to 'fix' the game scripts then do it yourself, it isn't hard and Bethesda offers the tools to do it yourself

In order to get back at them, don't pre-order ANY of Bethesda's games. That includes RAGE, and Elder Scrolls V. There exclusivity agreement with Microsoft will undoubtedly branch off with those two games.

I'd love to, believe me. Except for the fact that my cat want's TESV and if he doesn't get it he will murder me. Yes, my cat... :spotted owl:

This is why I invested in a PS3 and a 360. I've always been partial to 360 however, so I guess I got lucky there.

Edit: For the record, I very much enjoyed Dead Money.

I just have to say that i moved to PS3 from 360 because of the 360s poor track record of actually working. I completed the main quest on the 360 or should I say completed it how it made me complete it. ( and I thought they knew better than to actually end a game) I did have alot more I could have done but I said ill just get it for ps3 when the new dlc comes out. Well guess Bethesda won t be getting a second sale from me until they put the dlc up for ps3. I think ill always keep in mind to hold off from buying thier products until I see how bad they r going to screw everyone but 360 owners. To think they would do this to pc users as well????? FALLOUT IS A PC BASED GAME!!!!!! I ll give these people at Bethesda a word of advice that im sure they won t listen to DON T GET MIXED UP WITH MICROSOFT. Micosoft is kinda like a steaming pile of humam fecies -- Get too close and you can smell it but get in it and then u smell like [censored] too.

The only reason why the game would end is if you

read Sinclair's Personal Accounts (Which you should know if you actually read what you were supposed to read in Sinclair's terminal).

Even though I prefer 360, I'd have to agree.

the decision not to release the dlc for 2 of 3 plattforms is realy hostile to the gamers. i would have bought it now for pc... in two or three month, or in a year? .... meh, i don't think so
i thought bethesda always had a great support for their players, but that obviously changed, when they saw the $$$-cow mircrosoft offered.

This is a pretty disturbing trend. At least with FO3 they would announce when the "XBOX Exclusive" ( :yuck: ) date would end for the other platforms upon release of the XBOX version. This time around they announce nothing. While I can deal with it for FO NV (it was good for one play through with me - have no interest in another character), it greatly worries me for any additional content for Skyrim. If they pull that crap with the next Elder Scrolls game I'm going to be really, really disappointed with them (and I'm sure they will - apparently they're turning into Microsoft's you-know-what).

Microsoft is likely both stupid and malicious, Bethesda is greedy, and PC and PS3 players are too lazy and apathetic to make Bethesda believe they'd be better off respecting all of their customers equally.

As a PC player, I get the feeling the denial of DLC for New Vegas is a punishment for the switch from Games for Windows Live to Steam, and Bethesda's complicity makes me think that switch was Obsidian's doing (if so, mad props to Obsidian, in spite of getting shafted with greed-related delays on the DLC.)

It seems as though Microsoft is more interested in bribing people to deny good things as punishment for not accepting their shoddy service, rather than making their service decent or competetive with Steam. The fact that Bethesda is complicit in this is what's insulting to me.

The most brutal irony is that, thanks to New Vegas' use of Steam, I was introduced to the polar opposite corporate ethos in Valve.

I got Team Fortress 2 for less than the cost of a single DLC only to find that not only was it updated with bug fixes on a better than weekly basis, it's also received several games' worth of additional content created and added completely free of charge by Valve (the addition of an in-game store for in-game items was added in response to player demand!).

I can only imagine that the suits at Bethesda and Microsoft keep close tabs on Valve's activities just to see what they should avoid doing at all costs: respect their customers.

They better not pull this [censored] with Skyrim.. I mean.. I would like to get the DLC but Fallout New Vegas could have been the buggiest game ever.. It feels like an Xbox 360 port. Which it probably is. It also felt like a big Fallout 3 mod to..

I see this as a big middle finger from Bethesda to fallout's computer roots and really find it a shame that they can forget that it was the PC that made fallout what it is and it was the PC audience who they should not be snuffed. They should have released it universally across all platforms but hey what ever works for you ill return that middle finger by letting the next fallout sit on the shelf.

They have some type of (timed?) exclusive with MS. Until (or even if) it expires,
THEY CAN NOT LEGALLY SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE DLC ON ANOTHER PLATFORM.

So stop asking :swear:

Lets think about it the fallout way:

The vaults were never meant to save anyone, while vault-tec promised safe shelters they imorally experimented on the poor americans

The xbox exclusivity were never meant to amuse xbox players, while bethesda promised them exclusivity they imorally made xboxers pay to beta test suff.

Your big text self-assuredness is cute and all, but you don't actually know any of that for a fact. Stop acting like your opinion is unquestionable truth and anyone who isn't aware of it and/or doesn't accept it as ironclad gospel is somehow at fault.

Furthermore, it's absolutely silly to act like people asking this question or complaining about this is somehow an affront on you. If you don't like reading these posts, don't read them.

Personally I do not blame Microsoft for not bringing their DCL to the PC. What has the PC ever done for Microsoft? Microsoft knows the Xbox is where it is at. That is why any future versions of Microsoft Office will be discontinued on any platform other than Xbox. They know that future users of their products will demand the console version.

This is true.

Ya can't blame Beth for doing what they need to do to be a successful business. In order to make money, people are gonna get burned. Beth isn't here to cater to our every desires. They're here to make money, which I approve of, since more money for them means better quality games for us in the long run.

lol fail, and they will keep doing the exclusive DLC's, you know what? i think bethe$da and Micro$oft might keep doing this till they entirerly get rid of the pc 360 users,
