When can we expect this to be fixed?

Selling the Thieves Guild Armor prior to being told to upgrade it makes it impossible to become Guild Master....

I'm trying to finish this quest so I can get my final achievement...

When can we expect Bethesda to start fixing these quest bugs?

Its not really a bug as you made the choice to sell instead of storing it away, I heard that some nonessential Guild members carry the gear

There's varying reports about whether or not this is a bug but either way Quest fixes aren't going to be started until January at the earliest.

If the item was needed to finish a quest, they shouldn't let you sell the item. Or there should be a way to retrieve said item. And nobody carries the armor.

Considering how little gold you can get for it why the heck would you sell it? You can make more money robbing a house and pickpocketing everyone inside.

Maybe it's just me but when I saw it couldn't be disenchanted I figured it would probably be best to hold on to.

These are the imbecils that force developers to make essential Npcs and quest items that are stuck to your character. They are to thank when everyone rises from unconciousness and youre carrying musical equipment for the rest of your game

I have the same problem. To all the people who asks, "Why did you sell it?". WHO CARES! If it was required for a quest to complete, you shouldn't be able to sell it. That's just stupid that you could sell it. Yes, I sold it. It is a BUG! It is a STUPID bug. Why would I keep it if I did need it? It offered me nothing. I played the entire thieves quest wearing heavy dragon armor. So why would I need to keep it. This needs to be fixed.

Its because if they made it a quest item then its stuck in your inventory, thats not good since armor carries weight, as for making it weightless that would just be over powered for those that play thieves. I still have the full set something told me I should keep it

Hate to say it but its not a bug, its called cause and effect. its not hard to just store it in your house, thats what I did. You dont sell off an outfit given to you buy a guild, who knows if youll need it have it on hand later, I did the same thing with Stormcloak garb.

Half of these "bug reports" are actually user error. Most of them coming from people who've never even played an RPG much less a TES game.

That's funny you should mention that. So if Bethesda loses "Half" of their profits on their next game release, that's not a big deal too, right? Sorry I didn't expect to have to utilize every piece of armor in this game (I have played Morrowind, and Oblivion since that appears to be some rite of passage to you). Oh, and "Most of them coming from people who've never even played an RPG much less a 'The Elder Scrolls' game? After 110 hours logged, just finding out I cannot finish the thieves guild quest line is a little discouraging, so here's where I stand. I've taken Skyrim out of my xbox and gone back to battlefield and unless you plan on buying 2 copies (minimum) of their next game, between just you and I (of which I am not the only person to be disappointed by this easily avoidable Programmer error.), they've just lost out on 50% of their business. Kind of annoying when a wise *** meets a wise *** isn't it? Do any companies actually test their games anymore, I thought the amount of bugs/glitches in the new Fallout series was just exaggeration, the tradition lives on!

Fail to see why this is a 'bug' you made the decision to sell an item set that was given to you during the quest line. Even if you didnt want to use it its just as easily stored (thats where my set is). I could understand if you stumbled on the set while questing but it was given to you. I could see it both way but Imstill going to lean on the cause and effect that there will be consequences to the actions you choose to do. Though like I said earlier you arent totally boned from the quest line as I hear there are non essential guild members that carry the set on them.

I don't understand how people that are doing the thieves guild sell thier armour and start crying about it. I'm sure people must know they may need to keep it,it's common sense. People get too gready or want to rush through things without thinking, then call bug. People create their own problems sometimes.

It's not crying, it's a bug. It shouldn't let you sell them to the fence in the thieves guild, as this locks her out as a fence permanently.
Plus, you can't tell me you save every single thing you get.

It's not a bug, it is a consequence of YOUR decision.

All the crap that's ever been stuck in my inventory didn't actually weigh anything. It just said it does. Maybe they fixed that with 1.3, if you want to call it that.
If you can't sell something it's stuck in your inventory. So they have to program just for that armor set, and then people would complain cause they lost it in a misilanious non-owned barrel. And want them to fix that too. There is alot bigger problems then that so consider yourself lucky. Or unlucky of you have those problems too. Anyway it doesn't look like many people can become guild aster and you don't need the armor to progress to nightingale. Maybe you shouldn't sell that armor either?

yep i agree, its not a bug. it is highly annoying as people keep doing this over and over, but its not a bug.

I like the nightengale armor, just wish there was a full unenchanted set, not just the gloves....

I had no issue getting the nightingale armor, that's the main reason I sold my guild armor.
The problem herein is that you are NOT told beforehand that you need it to trade up. It should at LEAST tell you that you should hold on to the set.
So yes, I wouldn't call it a bug, but I would call it poor dialogue for not letting you know. Especially since it's needed for the achievement.
If you screw up in a fallout game, it fails a quest, if you screw up here there is nothing to tell you that you did.
Trust me that in my current playthrough that I will be holding on to the armor, my last save was broken by a few quest bugs that prevent any and all progression with the main quest so I don't mind playing again.

Apparently it is really hard since no other guild member has this set. Many people have tried and it doesn't work. And it is a bug since it breaks the achievement. Anyway, I don't care any more. I'm over it and not watching this topic anymore. I can get the achievement another way so I will just do it that way. There isn't any other benefit to completing the quest except for the achievement.

NO OTHER GUILD MEMBERS OWN THE ARMOUR, it is a one off in the entire game there is only one set which is very stupid in my opinion. Even if you can see a NPC wearing the guild Armour when you try to search or pickpocket him it will not be in his inventory.

If you went back to get it within 24hrs, yes. According to the guide merchants should keep specific gear. The only items I've seen a merchant keep in their inventory throughout the game was a full set of Whiterun gaurd armor I picked from a dragon's belly. Don't know why she kept it but 40hrs later and it's still in her inventory.
