I wouldn't expect any info to be released on the next DLC until Dead Money is released for all platforms.

Fallout 3 was through Broken Steel before Anchorage was released for PS3

With FO3, all five DLC packs were released for PC and Xbox before the first one even arrived for PS3.

That was a mess that should've never had been repeated...but it looks like history is repeating itself...again. Some things never change.

You're right, of course, I'm not saying I'm agreeing with it. I'm just saying that PS3 and PC users shouldn't get their hopes up about receiving any DLC before Xbox has all of them. However I find it a pretty dirty business trick, the whole exclusivity deal. I wish they'd just release it on all platforms.

I heard the second dlc ``honest hearts`` is set for fall 2011 or something and as mentioned lonesome road may be a third dlc and with maybe four more after that ?! ... Obsidian and Bethesda should really get a move on... before people lose interrest in fallout. .Me personally love fallout and will play it 4 ever and i will buy every dlc.
One mistake their making is to not continue the game after ``the end``. Especially if the ``final battle`` between the courier and Ulysses is going to happen. So 7 dlc`s and not be able to continue the game... mmhmm this might get inerresting for my character.

He didn't give a source and said he "heard" it was released in the fall.
Unless he gives a source that isn't a rumor from some blog I wouldn't say it's very reliable.
But it would be nice to know an estimated release date Obsidian.

Oh yes, I know. I'm still expecting late March, actually. But a releasedate or at least a screenshot from Obsidian would be nice.

What ive heard is only rumors and i read alot from fallout wiki. For all i know honest hearts might come out in march sometime. Dead money came out only a month and a half or something after the game... Nothing is confirmed by obsidian either.
But what i would like more than 7 dlc`s would be a continuing of the game after the end :)

A continuation of the main game would require an expansion really, doubt Bethesda is going to give a thumbs up for it considering DLC's are cash cows. :/

smaller dlc's=more money and aka more hype it would be stupid to release a single dlc when they can cheat the customers with mediocre tid bits ;p

Mwoah, not necessarily. I've never played Oblivion but I hear that the Shivering Isles DLC/expansion was pretty big and kept people hooked for a long while. Only doing small DLC's will most likely result in very linear DLC (Anchorage, Zeta, Dead Money) and will not please fans for very long. I'd really like for Obsidian to take an example from Point Lookout regardig the setup of their DLC's. I'd rather have a fairly big Point Lookout-style exploring expansion than several small linear DLC's.

Bethesda is going to release dlc`s for FO NV ( seven its said) over two years. So thats alot of dlc`s and cash... So continuing the game for me seems useful to keep gamers still keen to play. I really tried when dead money came out to finish the game and continue... didnt work... so the ncr veteran ranger armor was no use to pick up :(
All i got from dead money was 37 gold bars that i found a way to glitch`em out :)

a 2 year span is too long unless the DLC is very big each time

Seven DLC's over a two year span? The first one hasn't even been released for me and I've already lost all interest in purchasing it, let alone the other six. Besides, in two years I'll be fully engrossed in Skyrim; not even giving Fallout a single thought....except maybe wondering when Fallout 4 comes out.

If this two year plan is real, I wonder if the intent is to provide a small but constant stream of new content until the next full game. I shudder at the thought of two more years of Gamebyro crazyness, but the idea of constant content isn't too bad.

People have already lost interest in New Vegas for varying reasons, Whether it be gameplay, combat, or in some cases because of Steam...and now this deal with Microshaft to give exclusivity to the XBOX and leaving two thirds of your base out in the cold will turn even more customers away. This to me does not sound like a very good business decision.

Like I said, In two years I will be playing Skyrim and thinking about Fallout 4, not New Vegas and I suspect that most of the remaining folks that are now still playing New Vegas will be doing the same. I also suspect that after 11-11-11 the New Vegas forums will be about as active as the Fallout 3 forums are now. That doesn't bode well for the remaining DLC...especially if there really is a two year plan of releasing them.

The future doesn't look very bright for New Vegas. It's ashame because it has alot of potential to be really great, but one bad decision after another has svcked some of the life out of it.

The first bad decision they made was to confirm and not release a continuation of the game. And i know seven dlc`s over a two year period is a long time for a game like fallout new vegas. Sadly if the dlc about Ulysses is true ( final battle between the courier and ulysses another courier, a friend and ...? Nothing of this is confirmed by either obsidian or bethesda but are hinted trough dialogs and graffiti trough out the game. If you research alittle bit, the whole story behind the dlc`s sounds to me like it could be a continuation of the game.
The final battle that takes place at hover dam for me does not count towards as the final battle. The final battle to me is between the courier and ulysses whoever he is and what he have done to the courier. It is hinted that ulysses was planned to be carrying the platinum chip but turned it the offer down and said that they should let courier six take it. Who knows? maybe our courier was set up by ulysses who maybe knew what was going to happend?
The story ould take a completly different way if ulysses warned the courier about the package.
So a continuing of the game seems to me that it could be possible :) If only Obsidian and bethesda would put some work down in it. And seven dlc`s is ALOT and well yeaah i want to continue the game after the so called `` final battle`` that ive completed several times with several charachters :/

I think it's pretty much confirmed that there will be no continuation of the main game. The devs made it clear they had two options: They would either make a lousy ending which wouldn't have much influence on the Mojave, or they would make a very deciding ending that would be final. They picked the latter, and I think that's a good idea.

Also, every single time I played Broken Steel, I did the quests, finished the last quest, saved the game in front of the Citadel upon my return from the Air Force Base and never bothered to reload again. There's not much to do besides fighting random enemies, which you can also do before the final battle, so I don't see any reason why Bethesda or Obsidian would bother continuing the storyline.

Im just stubborn. I do not want to see it as it is, that it will not be a continuation of the game :( But i have faith :) even if its not going to happend... I will play new vegas anyways.
Personally i loved fighting random enemies in fallout 3. ive spent so many hours collecting ak`s and store them in a corner in my suite. Im addicted to finding rare weapons and collecting things so i didnt mind walking randomly around kiling enemies. And when i finished NV with my primary character all i wanted was to get the ncr armors and mr.houses hotel so i could store ALOT of stuff... well that didnt happen so im waiting for the next dlc know. Mostly because when i cant get armors and stuff, second think i will think of then is levels, and im in the highest level and thats the point were i see no reason to play NV sadly .. :(

I don't see the point of continuing after the ending. If I'm interested in playing the game afterwards I either:

1. Load a previous save.

2. Start another playthrough with a different character.

It's how I've kept playing Fallout 2 for these past 5 years, and I suspect the same for NV.

The problem with option 2 in Fallout 3 is that nothing new is with a different character. It all feels the same. And it all ends the same.
