When You Enter A Bandit Cave: How Do You Feel?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 7:47 am

I feel invincible, because in the first three hours of playing the game, I was able to near max out Smithing and Enchanting and nothing could beat me.
how can you max out enchanting in the first 3 hours?!

I feel like I'm the only one walking out alive. Draugr dungeons give me the creeps sometimes, mainly because of those weird sounds they make.

Playing on master, I am terrified all the time. They can kill me very easily if I'm not careful. And that's how I like it.

I feel I know what to expect from the thousand or so similar caves I've entered beforehand.

Depends on level. First cave, a little cautious. Now? Juggernaut.

Hahahaha Yes...

There was one time when a bandit started singing about a lady he used to know.

Lying face down in the middle of the room, directly in front of him, was the dead female body of one the fort's previous occupants.

Sometimes their random dialogue makes them look like psychopaths!

On my first PC version playthrough I made my character a member of the Bandit faction ( through use of console commands) and pretended that I had worked for one of the Bandit Leaders. I also used the bat follower mod that makes a batch texture file, which can be called upon through the console to do a series of commands, to make one Bandit Thug my follower. Spending enough time among friendly Bandits I found that non quest related dungeons produce some very boring bandits with only a few lines of dialogue, while a person who goes to kill the bandits may hear this line and think it is immersive, spending enough time one tends to grow weary of hearing an orc talk about his bastard child. Hopefully I can find someone to do a good bandit voice and ill add in a few lines for them to say if I make a Bandit faction type of mod. When you get one as a follower they will actually say some pretty neat things, and I have grown quite fond of taking the lesser bandits under my wing.

I feel bored because it's just going to be like the other 40 Bandit Caves I went into.

i feel questioning myself if its another future quest cave, and im breaking it now.

pretty much this to be honest....

As much as I love skyrim, its got to the point where entering a cave with bandits in feels like "generic hardly worth doing cave 166"

i dont feel like this at all, knowing that Skyrim was hand crafted has got me investigating every nock and cranie i possibly can just incase someones hid something there waiting to be found.

although in any game of this scale im sure eventually you will feel like its ''generic 166'' oblivion and morrowind where basicallt copy/paste and rotate, copy...move hallway to left, paste. atleast we know Skyrim is a hand crafted world and that is pretty dang impressive if you ask me, 16square miles of hand crafted work is no small feat.

I'm apprehensive. I don't like killing just to kill. So, I always let that first bandit make the first move. I guess I'm hopeful that I'll come across a friendly bandit cave that I can trade with. So, once that first bandit attacks me, then all bets are off. Then they all die.

I just wish that not everyone was hostile you meet in the world. Like that mage lady near Riverwood, I kept her alive because I was hoping there was a quest related to her. But no, she's there for cannon fodder. I didn't even sneak into her basemant.

Cautious. Last thing my robed mage wants to do is physically bump into a bandit marauder wielding a greatsword. I'll be sneaking until late levels when my mage finally decides to take the sorcerer route and find some heavy enchanted armor.

I always sneak around and listen to the bandits little conversations before I kill them. Many of the bandits in the lairs have bits of unique dialogue which adds some character to the dungeons.
