I may be wrong here but I'm sure that you can now store all your goods in most locations without them disappearing (or have I just not waited long enough to recheck?) If you can store anywhere which location do you prefer to call home?

I never had a problem with this in FO3 as long as I avoided the gray boxes. (I haven't had a problem in FONV either.)

I went from the gas station in Goodsprings, to the motel room in Novac to the Lucky 38 (though I kept my stuff in the Cocktail Lounge to keep my companions from taking anything).

Few, if any at all, containers ever reset in FO3. This is barring the "Full cell reset" glitch that only ever happened to me one time.

Back to the topic at hand. Any place that has a reloading bench, bed, campfire and some containers is fair game for me. I'll even deal with a room-mate long as he/she doesn't raid the fridge.

The certainly are the scrounging type aren't they? I was once raiding that vault with the armory, looking for the All American and Boone decided he'd pick up some stuff during our skirmish, I spent a good 15 minutes looking for that rifle.

I read about that on wiki though I don't think any of my companions have lifted any decent gear before me.

I saw NPC in one of the Novac houses to pick rifle from locked container when battle started (he saw me stealing something).

Send Boone, Cass and/or Veronica off to the lucky 38 and stock the fridges. They'll clean them out in short order. Leave some food on ED-E, Rex and Lily to start some fights in your suite.

Does anyone change the location depending on if they're RPing? Both places are handy but sometimes I roll a character and like to stay in far out lonely places. Popping into a nearby settlement to trade one in a while. I tried to set up business as a drug dealer in Goodsprings (Where I tried to stay near) and not go anywhere else but boy are they straight laced there. My poor young girl had to cross ger fingers and hit the local prison for some supplies.

Wait, what? I got tons of stuff in my fridges, one fridge contains only Nuka-Cola (all types) and Sarsaparilla, will they drink those?

Anyway, I started in the house in Goodsprings that is directly across from the entrance to the saloon. I found out later that it is Easy Pete's house, he doesn't seem to mind me using his footlocker, wardrobe, and bed. He prefers to sleep on the couch it seems.

Next was the room at NoVac and finally the Lucky 38, right now I'm in the process of going back to NoVac and Goodsprings so I can mail all my gear to the New Vegas strip. Finally have enough ammo to use my pre-order grenade rifle.

However, if I discover items missing from my fridge I may have to transfer those items to the presidential suite in the Tops.

I'm such a pack rat that I have stuff all over the place so it'll be nearby whichever general area I'm in.

And those Mojave Express boxes are perfect for us pack rats! I Express my salvage all over New Vegas. I stash things in every room I call my own. I have a comped room in one of the casinos that has all of my clothing.

How come you don't use the Sarsaparilla machine across the hall to store your Sarsaparilla?

I used Lone wolf Radio for a while, you can fast travel right after sleeping and stashing stuff because you dont have to enter a room to sleep or stash. It seems most of the map markers are meant to be used as houses / stash spots.

I live in the BoS bunker, it's safe, it's clean, it has a doctor, it has a high-level merchant, but it's fridges do not refill, but I am not above going grocery shopping at the Crimson Caravan HQ for my Brothers. Does anyone know if there is a repairman at the BoS bunker? If not I'll keep going to the BoS safehouse and meet up with Paladin Sato for 100% repairs.

Before I got the BoS safehouse I used the little shack next to Yangzte Memorial, though I never really found a use for having a home. I carry all my stuff with me

novac hotel room. i've gotten things quite cozy in there right now. i've got my single shot shotgun next to the door in case of an emergency and my pre war park outfit folded neatly on the bed. i don't like it as much as the house in megaton from fo3 but i love the view form novac.

Anything that requires 1-3 loading bars to get to via fast travel is a no for me. Lucky 38 and the Vault on the strip fall into that category.
The only exception would be is if the house feels like a house such as the FO3 houses, i could actually get into those & hoarde items for days on end. FNV does not have anything as such. So i'd use the Novac hotel which is the closest destination from fast travel.

Yeah, that's where I'll transfer my sodas next time I'm on the strip.


I've been playing for 103 hours and I just discovered the abandoned shack near the Yangtze Memorial yesterday. Next time I play through I'll definitely use that as my starting house.

Agree. Novac hotel is simply the most convenient overall location to base from. And, when you fast-travel to Novac, you zone in only a couple of seconds jog from your room. Unlike Lucky 38.

I use the gas station in Goodsprings for general stuff like ammo or old clothes. Anything of value I keep on me because I don't want to take the chance of losing it somehow.
