Which base archetype do you prefer?

I usually make a straight Assassin build. It's just what I love.

I've got a long running Dunmer Mage that I've been building up slowly since the games release. But 95% of the time, I'm running an Assassin.

In Skyrim the Nord Light Armor Sword & Shield seemed to fit and work the best.

I've played about every type there is, but I keep coming back to this one.

Warrior.
I love going face to face.

Next in line is mage. There are lots of possibilities as a mage, which is fun. I just cant seem to enjoy playing a thief/assassin for too long. The playstyle feels too slow for me. I dont like sneaking around.

Currently playing a full fledged (noble) warrior. If I ever get to a second char it'll probably be a daedra following magic using warrior. So still a warrior…

well as the question is which of the three I'd say Mage.

However I usually mix all three to some degree, very rarely do I use much thief playstyle. I don't care for sneaking or pickpocketing too slow

Most of my characters have always leaned toward the warrior archtype the most. Though I do usually mix archtypes.

I tend to alternate between warrior and thief. Generally I prefer face-to-face and tanking, but occasionally a good bit of stealth sniping is great fun. I really can't be doing with pure magery though.

I like them all, but probably an Assassin type character.

Mage. Magic is awesome(though I WISH they didn't take out the open lock spells), and I love being a part of the college of Winterhold. Mostly for its design, and because it has so many damn books.

I'm playing a Mage/Rogue build right now, and it is the best thing. I tried warrior types, and sub-types before, but I seem to have an irrational hatred for armor, and any weapon that isn't a dagger.

Definitely Assassin build. I like the whole sneaking around and killing things before they have a chance. I'm a archer/dual-1h swords build and I must say is my favourite. I tried a mage and couldn't get into it, felt too boring (imo).

well i like my lvl 51 dunmer sorceress , she's at lvl 100 in all her magical stats :)
and she is pretty good at sneak as well. but i dont like worrior types i find them boring and basic ... plus they are so easy to kill .
im more of a "walk through a bandit lair and .... Aniolate everyone in one zap" kinda guy :D
dead thrall spell is the beast, i find NPC's that dont respawn and collect the corpses so i can use them as minions ... i moslty collect mage types .

Light-armor stealth fighter. Balance ranged and melee, with enchanting, alchemy, some smithing (up to scale + arcane) and minimal magic.

First character (Redguard) was this, more or less. Second (Imperial) was a heavy armor thief. (Wasn't intentional, but it worked out pretty well.)

I tried a mage with my third character (Altmer). I apparently fail at mages, so she was retired before level 30.

Fourth (current Nord)) character is working with what I learned from the first three. She'll have a good foundation for becoming a thief later on. (We're avoiding TG for now but plan to take this all the way eventually. She'll be my DLC character, mostly likely.)

Beats me why this is in spoilers...

Anyway, I've always played battlemages but this time around I'm going with a very stealthy archer who uses conjuration as his magic. For example, my current char took out Morokei w/o taking a hit. Shoot, duck into a hiding place avoiding Morokei and then when he gets into a place I can see him, hit with another arrow. Took some time but it worked.

As a compare, I tried doing a face to face and Morokei could easily two shot me.

Mage... I guess. But Battlemage is really where I often end up. If the mage armor wasn't so weak, then it'd be great to be a pure mage, but continually casting X-flesh is too tedious in a game full of tedium.

I play through the game as a straight up warrior most of the time, but I do enjoy adding elements of magic into the fray, as well as the occasional arrow or 10.

I mostly enjoy Partial Heavy/Partial Light armour, with a 1H Sword and some times a shield. I find that magic is incredibly overpowered, or at least can be in some situations, and charging head on in, with my shield raised and my sword or mace violently thrusting is an awesome amount of fun.

I keep going back to mage as well.
With each playthrough (now on my 4th), I get closer and closer to a "pure" build.

I have 2 types i switch between, pure magic mage and battle axe barbarian. I couldnt really do the barbarian in previous TES games but thankfully skyrim is just right for him and he finally has a proper beard :)
