Who is in charge around here?

Skyrim General Discussion = Baghdad 2007

This is getting ridiculous. People need to understand that these topics are useless. Use your intellectual skills to find someone who you can talk to about a problem, if there really is one.

Which I know there isn't, so take your bullsh*t somewhere else. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.

Just a heads up: BY THIS TIME TOMORROW NIGHT THE MAJORITY OF US WILL BE PLAYING S K Y R I M!! So put your big boy pants on and stop complaining.

It is immature and childish to make a topic about this if you have a problem go to them and do not post about it here these forums are not here for you to complain about how you disagree with anyone much less a moderator, i guarantee you most people here could care less and would rather not see these types of posts.

I did go to them. I was trying to ask their reasoning behind locking the threads and they failed to come up with a good answer. I sent them 3 messages and they replied back twice. All of the messages were back to back so I know they were still online.

I had a problem regarding account once. PM a mod, handled politely/nicely, solved, done.
They made mistakes too (though it's rare). And won't hesitate to apologize if they realized they did.

Oh my god Fyrisi, try a little harder to be junior mod please.

Some of the mods can be a bit strict around here though... maybe they're just trying to avoid spoilers in this section though.

I agree that the mods around here are power-happy.

But at the same time, they are just doing what Pete Hines and the rest of the marketing and PR staff tell them to.

Think about it.

It's release week, and tons of people are going to be visiting the official Skyrim forum.

If they come on here and see people saying that the game has bad textures, or glitches, etc. they will be less likely to buy it.

If they see someone talking about leaked footage or whatever, they know people will go look up the leaked footage and see that the graphics or gameplay don't quite meet their expectations, etc.

They don't want people to see anything outside of the pre-rendered footage they spew, and they don't want anyone hearing anything critical about the game because it could drop sales.

If you really want to talk about the game, I would suggest finding another Elder Scrolls forum. This one could essentially be named "Skyrim PR and fan boyz"

The forums are pretty hectic at the moment, but I think they are doing a great job. Friendly, and they always leave a post explaining why they locked the thread, which is more than can be said for most forum mods that I have seen. One mod even apologized for having to lock my thread (it was against the forum rules which I did not know).

Hmm. It seems the global rioting and protesting the authority has found it's way to these forums. Let the revolution begin bro!

The game is still two days away. You just admitted that you will be playing an illegal, leaked version of Skyrim. Reported.

Some are a little strict, but I haven't seen anything that would make me personally wanna report them.

Also, wow. A lot of svcking up to mods in this topic.

Go and talk to another mod about it.

To do that, just type random keywords into the search function, go into topics that are locked, and pick a mod, any mod.

Assuming you don't actually have any relationships yourself with people on these forums.

Which is why it only attracts power-hungry people.

What else would someone get out of a volunteer moderator position? There's no joy to it other than being able to mod people's posts and ban them.

talking about early copies of the game and asking for reviews for a game that is not yet out then re-opening the topic after it was locked for good reason by starting the thread by telling the mods to leave it alone? yeah, must be a bad moderator <_<
