Almost half? Lol, so not even a majority?

It details that Khans originated from vaults, and live their lifestyle as Mongl Warriors. I repeat Mongol Warriors.

Certainly there are similarities to the Indian lifestyle but they aren't indians, and they aren't supposed to be.

 (you)

But I would like to see more of the rural tribals like those at Arefu. Great Khans seem more like a gang of raiders and the other families didn't sound very different pre-House.

They are a gang of raiders. That's how they decided to fit the Native Americans into the game.

I honestly do not think the Khans are even modeled from Native Americans. That being said, the argument can be made that Native Americans are of Mongol descent.

*edit: Although that is not fact and is widely debated.

I know all about them. I already said they are supposed to resemble Mongols. They are a mix of a lot of things. I can read between the lines and it is clear to me that these are your Indians. If you disagree, fine.

This topic has diverged hillariously.

I can't believe anyone would like to be called First Nation Peoples. Whoever came up with that term definately used intelligence as a dump stat. It's an insult to their tribal heritage and cultural uniqueness more than anything.

Is Injun any better? Seriously. It's not only an insult to tribal heritage and cultural uniqueness, it's derived from confusion with the wrong culture.

Other than the questionable terminology, I found nothing slanderous, derogatory, or remotely stereotypical towards Native Americans in the post (I am 1/4 Cherokee and 1/4 Oglala Sioux). Calm down and quit throwing the "R" word around.

By that rationale, the thread could be called "The game needs more "tar babies" as long as there's no derogatory conatained within? Uh........no.

I'm half "Native American." I don't feel offended in the slightest by being called Injun, but I understand that some do. Now I do think the term you threw out is offensive in and of itself. Native Americans were not called Indians at first to insult them. It was b/c some guy thought he landed somewhere he didn't and the name eventually stuck. Tar babies on the other hand was intended to be slanderous from the beginning. I think your comparison is way too extreme.

Definition of RACISM
1: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2: racial prejudice or discrimination

Nothing in that post suggests anything discriminating. Something may be offensive but it desn't necessarily mean it is racist. Tar babies is derogatory and stems from a hatred of black people (or should I say African American, although that would offend every single black person I know). Injun is a derivative of Indian, a misnomer that offends some but was not meant to be derogatory.

Bitter Springs was pretty clearly meant to refer to the plight of Amerindians during the Expansion period of USA and their forced Nomadism cries out "Trail of Tears".

The Khans received influence from both. If they were meant to only be Mongols then they'd be a ruthlessly expansive motorcycle gang.

That's a lot of time wasted crafting what is clearly a straw man argument.

1. You did not address your poor rationalizing, which was all I replied to.
2. Indians has nothing to do with anything, the term was Injuns and it's offensive.
3. A slur has nothing to do with "slander"
4. I never said anything about racism, just the poor rationale you threw out to defend the title.

Wow I'm done with this thread.

Buffalo did almost become extinct but now they are not. There's millions of them now.

Great Khans are not representative of Indians. There is no between the lines. Yeah there are simliarities but they "ain't representin".

Bitter Springs was a scenario that has happened thousands of times to any number of of racial groups across every continent except antartica.

People are drawing lines to dots that do not connect.

You quoted a post I made stating the thread was not racist. My rationale for it not being racist was because the OP said nothing racist about Native Americans. I see nothing poor in that rationale. Were the thread titled what you said it could have been (by my rationale of course) it would have been racist just by having that word in the title. Slander was only one of the words I used. A slur IS derogatory though. I never said it wasn't offensive. Hell, anything can be offensive to SOMEBODY. Your rationale regarding my rationale was flawed. I make the determination of what is a waste of my time. But I am done going back and forth about this. If you want to flex your debating prowess I am sure there are forums out there that will be a welcome home to you. If it makes you feel better I will even concede the argument to you. You, sir, win the internet.

Now they are after us humans have AI'd them and brought them back to health, there would be a veyr low number of them in the Fallout world and they'd probably die like that after the war. Having cattle did not help the grazing wildlife.

I don't agree entirely with you. The term "Indian" is used widely by American Indians and Anthropologists and is not a slur. But I agree that the OP has started, by boundless ignorance on the topic, a venue for more slurs throughout the thread: such as, they would all be "addicted to whiskey".

I'm not responding directly to you in the following; just the general ignorance in the thread:

This thread is moot, anyway. It should be locked to prevent further outlets for internet racism. There are no American Indians in the game. You cannot select to be one in the race menu. Whether the decision to not include American Indians in FO3 and F:NV was oversight or for the reason that they all died out during the apocalypse (to return to the 1950's sentiment of dwindling populations) or for the reason that they were cloistered in reservations and still not in contact with the world (despite the number of American Indians who do not live on reservations), there are none to be seen in this milieu. Should they introduce people of American Indian descent in future titles (which they should) I'd hope that it wasn't some completely ignorant feathered head-dress BS. The mojave is not the plains.

For the record, "tribals" in the Fallout milieu are usually represented by a collection of Americans with different ancestral races that have banded together into tribes with trans-egalitarian governments. And while they might be similar to early First Nations forms of governments, they do not represent the descendants of First Nations groups. "Tribal" is not an American Indian word. Instead, what they represent is the collapse of a unifying national government and infrastructure and the natural inclination of human beings to regroup in familial circumstances in this absence of nationhood.

There are sufficient racist remarks, and arguing about it, plus stereotyping not to allow this topic to go any further. That is without the thread derailing and the fact is should have been in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1130187-dlc-suggestions-2/ topic - not that I think it would be a good idea to put it there now.
