Who gets the Dovahkiin's characters soulspirit after death?

It's kind of weird pledging your soul to all the gods/daedra.

Good wages though.

I just like to think that the dragonborn is badass enough that he can choose whoever the hell he wants.

The dragonborn is about as badass as a mudcrab... well mudcrabs are badass so the dragonborn is about as badass as the Adoring Fan

The Dragonborn is a dragon in mortal form, so no one would get him. Akatosh would likely take him to wherever dead dragons go when killed. Thats why hes called Dragonborn and Dovahkin.

About the Daedra lords, you can always say "Thanks for the artifact but I wont be serving you".

That's assuming the dragonborn will die. I'd bet my bottom dollar the Nerevarine is still kicking, and the Champion of Cyrodiil ... got to claim his own soul. Crazy, I know.

Most likely they'll all scorn you for working with their enemies, and either tear your soul to shreds or curse you with undeath or in some other way prevent you from having an afterlife.

Or you can get soul trapped. You might need a spectacular soul gem though, like the Chim-el Adabal

We can't possibly begin to comprehend the minds of the Et'Ada. Whatever they do in these situations is beyond our understanding, but it's likely that it depends over which god the Dovakhiin has dealt with the most / which god really cares / is more powerful. In the end though, it doesn't really matter, because all dead souls will eventually be deconstructed into their base components and turned into new conciousness in the dreamsleeve. A sort of reincarnation if you will. I love all the obscure lore in this game haha.

Perhaps whichever one you have to strongest connection with will have more power over your soul and can pull it into their realm before the others....

Being a shezarrine, he's probably going to return to wherever shor goes when he's dreaming about being dead instead of walking around being dead.(Probably Sovngarde)

im with the dark bortherhood so i serve Sithis
and im with the thieves guild so i serve also Nocternal

however i am an Arch mage of the college of winterhold ..... who's the god in that one ?

wait serving Nocternal in the thieves guild is not based on a Religious thing , its more of a business thing with Nocternal .

so .... does she actually own your soul ?
i think she does but i cant remember .

Sithis isn't a god really. It's a force / state of being. The "Soul of Padhome" as I recall. Padhome / Padomay is the concept of chaos, and sithis is padhome made manifest. Since I'm pretty sure Sithis isn't a concious being (Bethesda had to clarify that after the whole Vile Lair "Sithis temple" thing) I'm not sure it can claim anyone's soul.

fine then padomey. he is the force of creation, proof that he at the very least is an actual being (if true) is auri-el has the soul of anu, padomey's brother and opposing force. p.s. i you have a link or something to bethesda clarifying something then please link it, otherwise i will go with what i already know

Oh it's not that big a deal really. But when the Vile Lair came out, people were complaining when the guy in Deepscorn Hollow claimed he could talk to Sithis. One of the writers had to clarify this by saying that he was just a devout Sihis worshipper, and that Sithis is more of a force than a god. "Padomay (sometimes called Sithis) is the quintessential form of change. One of the two primal forces, the other being Anu" -UESP And on the article specifically on Sithis it says, "Sithis (or Padomay) is the representation of the one primordial state of chaos." It's a lot like the "primordial forces" in real life mythology. Entities that are more like forces of nature than sentient beings. Sithis is sort of like an energy, from which other beings come, and is constantly described as more of a thing than a being. For example, Sheogorath is described as the "Sithis-shaped hole in the world" and some say Mephala is an sentient manifestation of Sithis, as is Lorkhan, which by extension means that all of Lorkhan's avatars are related to sithis as well. It's pretty interesting stuff. The only time Padomay is personified in mythology is in the monomyth, when its personification is basically religous allegory / metaphorical. It's pretty interesting stuff really. Anyway I wasn't trying to imply that sithis wasn't powerful. He's probably the most powerful thing in the universe, but he's, in a way, above a god, and more like a primordial state of existance, which is how he's described in the game's literature.

Edit: Oh and let me see if I can find that quote from the devs you asked about. It was years ago so if I cant find it I'll understand if you dont take my word for it. Cheers.

Edit 2: This post by Michael Kirkbride, the Bethesda writer who basically wrote the mythology of TES, may clear things up a bit, or confuse us all a bit more.

http://www.imperial-library.info/content/source-chaos

In it, he states that historically the concept of Sithis was something brought about through misinterpretations and daedric manipulations of the concept of Padomay, and eventually made his way into mainstream religion. This doesn't mean that Sithis doesn't exist of course, but that our current interpretation of it is flawed, and possibly unknowable. Sithis is, in its simplest, a form / aspect / interpretation of Padomay. The best bet I can come up with is what I said before: Padomay is the concept of chaos, and Sithis is the force of chaos. The text also talks about the Psijiic order and the mysterious relationship between the dark brotherhood and the Morag Tong, but that's neither here nor there

In real life fairy tales, the dark ones where fae were out to steal your children and make you dance for eternity, the only way to get out of a deal with a fae, is to trick another fae into a similar deal where both fae get the same reward.

This might be the same case here.

After completeing the Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild and Companions quest lines, i noticed that 3 different "Gods" had a claim to the Dovakiin's soul/spirit. Without going into spoilers by explaining how this occurs, how does anyone think this would play out? Who has the strongest claim?

The Aedra, Daedra, and Shor all play monopoly for the Dovahkiin's soul.

Im willing to bet that since dragon-born is a hero foretold by the elder scrolls, (s)he can chose whatever he want. I think i read somewhere that such heroes does not have a fate, and thus has more freedom to chose. The guy that owns a museum in windhelm says that whoever sees nothing in that special book of his does not have a pre-defined fate. Might just be lies thou.

The Daedra, so clueless! ;)

Besides, everyone in Sovngarde expects you to show up again, regardless of your race. But of course, they might be clueless, too.

Dovakiin gets weekends with Shor and trades off every other week with Nocturnal and Sithis. Hircine is a drunk and therefore not suitable for custody.
I had a good laugh about this.

My Dragonborn simply won't die. He's gonna mantle Talos, destroy much of the Aldmeri Dominion, and then proceed to punch out Molag Bal, Mehrunes Dagon, Sithis and every guard who makes a redundant comment.

After that? It's off to Aetherius, chillin with Pelinal, Tiber Septim and the Gods. The Nerevarine is invited too.

THE END.
