Who's the most contemptible NPC in the game?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 2:58 pm

Me.

QFT, after all the stunts we pull to get ahead, and our constant need for accolades and to be liked

Otherwise, it's that beggar in Riften who berates me even tho I'm his SOLE source of income....

You know as I continue to play my Altmer charecter I'm actually starting to like the Thalmor. Maybe Mer should be the bosses for a while. Maybe some female nord should start polishing up my shoes and making sure that my clothes don't have wrinkles in them, and if I find one I'll lock her up in the thalmor embassy prisons for a while.

Just a heads up. If the thalmor were ever fully in the boss's chair. Every last man on nirn would be hunted down and slaughtered. No exceptions. Argonians and Khajiit too probably. Actually, most mer would probably be slaughtered too. Filthy daedra worshippers that they are.

And don't forget that the entire universe would cease to exist.

It's difficult to pick just one so for a 3-way tie:
Ancano, Maven, and Nazeem.

Maybe a 4-way tie including:
That guy of the Silver-Blood gang who becomes the advisor to the new Jarl if you hand Markarth over to the Stormcloaks...
Reburrus Quintilius? He's definitely up there, too.

I'm surprised not many people are saying Delphine. I would wear earmuffs made out of growing nirnroots if it meant I could kill her.

Joan Allen's voice isn't that bad.

I would never side with The Blades and kill Paarthurnax, but I don't get why people dislike her so much. :P I'm not a fan of her, but I don't dislike her intensely.

Me neither! This time I really listened to what she had to say in her hidden room in Riverwood... I get it. I'm not wacking Paarthunax, but I get it.

Every Imperial apologist, from Hadvar on through.

But the worst has to be Sanguine. I wanted to like you man, I really did....

I loved Sanguine! Yes he put me through a helluva lot for that staff, but it's a really great staff.

Plus any lingering resentment I might have had completely disappeared as soon as he said, "Let's be honest here... I don't always think my decisions through." Probably because he sounded like he was drunk when he said it, which cracked me up.

"You are not as dumb as you look" Scald. Getting rid of him was one of my reasons for negotiating the cease fire.

Eola, My current character left her to decay for the sake of Namira.

Maven Blackbriar is another good candidate.

Alduin. Jerk's ignoring his duties, killing random people, and eating their souls.

yeah, that guy's so lazy. he won't even eat a pebble, let alone a planet.
but then again, planets are horrible for your digestion. no floavour whatsoever, and they give you a very bad case of gas.

This. I actually like how they did her so bossy. Makes her a more believable character than if she'd been all good and noble (the same goes for Ulfric, btw, he would be incredibly boring if he had been all noble hero/totally evil).

Personally, I can't stand Elisif (spoiled, whiny little brat!), but I don't really hate her. Instead, I nominate Maven Black-Briar and Elenwen (don't think I have to motivate those two) along with Sibbi Black-Briar, who's a sleazy, lying, brutal son of a b**** (literally :P). Svidi should thank her good fortune that she got away from him before they got married (and she probably does).

So it's the "bossy" thing that people hate? :P I don't care much for that, but I guess I've become desensitized to it because it seems that all NPCs treat all heros in all games as if the hero were a peasant. Even in Fable III when you're king or queen the commoners get all over your case to deliver a book to another NPC.

What about if the thalmor collapsed and a less genocidal more sane altmer political group where to take over?

Then the results would be slightly less genocidal and slightly less likely to end the world?

Edit: Actually I can't confirm that last one. They might keep the Talos ban in place.

Ancano gets my vote. It was a great pleasure to use his soul to recharge the staff after the boss fight.

Siddgeir - This annoying little pansy needs a little attitude adjustment.

Hmm, I think that's what I'm going to rename my mace to "Attitude Adjustment"

Yeah, he was my first choice the one time I did the Boethiah quest. I kept trying to make him mortal and add him to the follower faction with the console, but I couldn't get it to work. Maybe it's not even possible, but I had such high hopes... finally gave up and just used one of my housecarls.
