Who's the real villain in Skyrim?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 6:43 am

Ok I know the lack of NPCs is mainly due to the engine but look at it this way... Whiterun has about 70-80 NPCs... the average player will have killed maybe around 1500 human NPCs by the time they have finished the game 100%. Thats like wiping out Whiterun 21 times! And probably more than all the people the dragons have killed combined!

I don't play as a pure hero type but for those who do... think of all the caves of people who Dovahkiin slaughters; yeah they are bandits and what not but 1500 people? thats pretty insane. I think Dovahkiin can be an anti-hero at best...

PS. How many people have you killed so far? I am at 749 - 132 game days and still haven't half of the caves etc. or done a whole load of side quests... I have done the DB quests.

I'd say its whoever that jerk was that shot all the guards in the knee, I mean what kind of monster does that. Probably one that'd steal your sweet roll too.

sometimes, i get bored and go around killing bandits, mages, dragons, etc, fast traveling to their hideouts, one after another.

walk around for a few days, just chopping heads and taking names. But it does get boring after a time.

I've killed a lot of people, but they DID start it... most of the times... sometimes... occasionally.
I think this game should have an option to let defeated enemies live. Currently, if the enemy has low health, he just kneels and begs for mercy. As soon as his health regenerates, he starts attacking you again. I'd love it if we could really let them live and they wouldn't attack you after that (Or some would, but not all).

That man or woman singlehandedly brought law and order to skyrim. He or she should be given a medal.

Not him, M'aiq. Notice that M'aiq shows up every time the world is in a crisis, no matter how many years have past since each event? Coincidence? I think not.

Also observe that another famous character in a different game series, Kane of the Brotherhood of Nod also appears at key conflict points at different timelines which puts him at thousands of years old. We all knew how it turns out the he masterminded everything in order to ascend with his followers to a higher plane of existence.

We also know the Dwemer disappeared mysteriously. A test by M'aiq to see how ascending Mudus's plane of existence would work? Who knows?

I would like to see speech tied into a yield. Using the speech design from Oblivion would fit I think, if you fail the fight contiues if you suceed they surrender to you. No I am not suggesting a direct port just use of the concept.

The bandits and bad people outnumbering the good people 1000/1 is not new to Skyrim. Same problem in Oblivion. Actually Morrowind was even more confusing. There were more bad guys then everyone else combined, but most cities also had more guards then civilians. Vivec was a great example. Ordinators outside, ordinators inside buildings, ordinators in almost every shop, ordinators in the temple, etc. But yea, if the bandits organised they would own all of Skyrim... then Tamriel very quickly.

The bad guy in the game. Not sure, its a toss up. Me... and the dragon.

Me because I've killed more people than all the dragons and the war combined. The dragon because he killed some people, brought back other dragons which killed some people, but more importantly because he distracted the headsman when he could have saved the world from me.

I like the idea. High speech skill could even allow us make demands to the enemy. "I'll let you live, if you give me your gold/armor/potions and what not." Weaker enemies could be persuaded more easily, but some stubborn enemies would refuse if you demand too much from them.

Not really gonna cry over murderers. For every bandit I slaughtered, hundreds of caravans and farmers got where they were going unmolested.

My kill counter says 15 at 105 hours, but I know it wasn't that high, most those kills are creditted to companions and NPCs that have been forced to travel with me on certain quest scenes and don't have the same inclination to respect people's survival...
