It's Beth's way of doing several things, making jokes, pointing out changes in thee game and giving a middle finger to people who've asked for things they don't want to give. Like nudity

I don't see why he had to become less and less interesting in these later games.

I think M'aiq is a "liar" because he speaks the truth, but not a truth for a Tamrielan. It's like me saying there are people in the world who know the Thu'um, which is true. Any one in Skyrim would agree with me, but my psychiatrist would suggest otherwise.

Muahahahahah, so true! Most people in Cyrodiil are butt ugly! As someone who started with F3 first, it was such a shock to play Oblivion. I thought the people would look something similar! I'm glad Bethesda went the Fallout route when it came to people.

I remember running around in Oblivion, minding my own business, when at the top of my screen is says 'M'aiq the Liar is unconscious.' Where he was when it happened, I'll never know, he wasn't near me. At least he sits still so you can chat with him.

_{M'aiq wasn't a AHEM, (derogatorry remark here) initially, he was infact a a tongue and cheek "Heya fan's we hear ya" kind of easter egg in Morrowind, he was for lulz, not to be a (derogatroy remark here) but for lulz.}

_{he became a (censored_) in oblivion and generally being just one of many aspects that got corrupted and as so eloquently put earlier a middle finger to the fans, because of course only Fans know really know who M'aiq is new comers wouldn't have the sligthest idea ..}

_{In Skyrim his (Cnesoerd)ness was toned down, but still he's of the same cannotation he was in oblivion, a Mockery to those that know about him. sad I know.}

He's always been that way. Our parents eventually got tired of his attitude and threw him out.

I think I got most of the oxygen and food in our mother's womb.

Very sad...
