Because you touch yourself at night.

Some people can't understand how possibly Skyrim could be considered GOTY on the other hand. Trolls are everywhere, but such amount of complains suggests that something may indeed be wrong with the game.

Why are there so many complaints?

Lots of reasons.

1.) Genuine dislike.

Yup, it is completely possible that this game just isn't for some people. They dont like the game style, there are too many bugs, etc. For whatever reason, they genuinely dont like it.

2.) Hipsters

People wanting to dislike something now that it's popular. Its very common, and happens quite a lot online. I've seen it for almost every medium of entertainment. People want to seem important for liking something before it was popular, and ragging on the popular version that a new audience is now liking.

3.) Way too much self importance and dillusion

Because things aren't exactly as they remembered it, its bad. It doesn't matter if the changes are an improvement or not, its different, and they dont like it. So they complain, and use false claims of the past to try to justify why they hate the current, even though things in the past weren't how they are remembering them. They also make false claims of the newer state of the game and say that the new features are things that dont match reality.

4.) Wanting to seem cool

Its cool to go with the crowd, even online, so people throw terms around like "dumbed down" and "console masses" to appear more important than they are, and lemmings who want to look cool follow suit.

If I see a fly on a turd I ignore it.
If I see a fly on a wonderful steak I try to catch it before I keep eating.

A flaw on something good simply calls for a bigger effort to correct it, so when something is wrong with Skyrim there is more cause to complain about it than if there is something wrong with Brink.

And yes, Brink is a turd.
I don't know much about Brink, but I totally agree with what you're saying here. Most of the people who are complaining liked the game, but wish it would've done a few things differently.. making it perfect. It's how I feel, anyway.

I only read complains in this forum... sometimes it's like reading a WoW-forum. When i talk to friends in "Real Life" about this game everyone loves it.

Nothing better to do, that's why they complain so that maybe Beth hears them although that may not always be for the best.

Dudes are spoiled and they think they know everything. Its one thing to posts bug, glitches, opinions on how to improve the game. But some peoples post serve no purpose and are unproductive. Oh well.

I've been noticing quite a few complaints on this forums regarding why the characters don't do this or that. Why archers are under powered, stealing is broken completely, not enough of this and that, why is there not enough options etc. Now just the other day I'm seeing threads regarding, if this game really has the content to back up the 300 hour comment made by the developers.

I'm beginning to think that they had ultra expectations of this video game. Yes, they created a whole world for us to explore in but there's going to have to be a limit some where. I mean the developers can only put so much in a game.

I'm sure they will fix the bugs in the game but what they have made so far is quite impressive of a game. I'm only at 80 hours with 1 character and have yet to get through the main quests. I've yet to even seen half the land and two of the major cities. Quite honestly I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of the game.

I'm quite happy with my purchase and I'm impressed with what's done so far in terms of video games.

What do you think? Do people have high expectations?

Certainly there are many of us who are very happy with the game.

However, threads about other threads are not permitted. :nono:
