Why go back?

As in destroyed and in pieces?

I think he means more of an update, a remake if you will.

For that matter... I would like to visit the Red Mountain and see Lorkhan's heart, or get a better picture of what a Dwemer looks like from the ghost in prior TES.

Atmora, Alinor, Black Marsh, Elsweyr, Valenwood, something out at sea with the Maomer, the Hist, different sub-species of Argonian and Khajiit, a Sload plot, underground with a city of less devolved Falmer, Old Mary at water.

"No ta, I think it would be nice for newer gamers to see Vardenfell, that theyur wun's mah fayv'rit." Why, oh why, oh why?

Having said that, I'm resigning myself to a return to Solstheim, just makes sense, however dull compared to some other possibilities.

At some point, TES is going to run out of new provinces to visit... and if we ever make it to Akavari or any place outside of Tamriel....

The world is only so big.

Personally, I would rather leave the new areas to future games.... and revisit old areas via DLC/expansion.

Eventually the hardware will allow us to visit everything at once, but we're just not there yet... and God help us... that game would take 10,000 forevers.

I don't think we'll ever reach that point. Because should Bethesda desire to make the whole of Tamriel now than they could do this, just not with voice over and the same attention to detail. There would be less quests and things to do and see on each location.

With each installment the experience with old hardware or functionality of new hardware is used to further flesh out the world not to create a larger world. This is a design choice: quality VS quantity. Even now Skyrim could be twice the size it is, easily. On X360 the game only takes up 3.5GB so they could have done twice as much dialogue, twice as much quests, twice as much land-mass, etc.

As for DLC, I would rather visit small areas like the Orc city and its surrounding mountain area. But going back to Soltheim and seeing the Dunmers living there now would also be cool. I doubt they would return to the whole of Morrowind. I think they just added the land-mass to help modders get started and add a sense of scale.

That's probably the best way to put it.

I personally would love a Summurset Isle DLC because...
Spoiler
we never destroyed the Thalmor and for me that was a huge cliffhanger. It would be cool if it was like in Oblivion, where at the end all was right again (and also)
...it would be cool to see one of the most mysterious places in the game

I'd like a DLC that puts actual spells to the game, not fire-ice-lightning-armor-light-summon 6 things-invisibility-calm-frenzy-fear. More summons (clannfears? Daedroths? Scamps? Where are they?), more magic (feather? Night eye? Open/lock? Mark/recall? I have never seen them) and spell making. Also ranged/on touch spells.
I'm not asking for jump/slowfall or levitation due to cities being in different instances, but that could be cool with mods that put the cities in the map, like towns are.

I want a DLC that brings along what happened to the dwemer, maybe it gives your character the ability to access a whole dwemer ruled skyrim or place whenever they want through memories of a sort

Sort of like shivering isles but you dont have to go to the portal to enter

morrowind as download content don't make me laugh, not even for expansion content. They just don't have the manpower or ability to make this game as a standalone let alone chop it up and make a horrible expansion of it. Do you even know how many cities there are in morrowind?

Only DLC I would like to see is either time travel to Dwemer age, or more daedric realms.

Oblivion had a larger size (by a fair bit) than Morrowind. Skyrim is breaking from the previous tradition (Daggerfall and Arena don't count, they're huge with little attention to detail and randomly generated stuff). And if they had the 20gb of storage Blu Ray can hold, then I'm sure they have no hardware limitations to making the whole of tamriel - now it's just time they would need to put in - they probably wouldn't do that untill they had made a fair few more games, because untill they refine the engine that would take like 10 years to do :P

NO MORE SNOW, PLEASE
It's -28C here right now.
It's been -30C windchill all week.
I don't need to see it when I'm adventuring, I already have to much of it in real life.

becasue it would be nice to return to morrowind and see old things but in a newer form.
morrowindis half destroyed cuz of the eruption, And the toxic gasses are a bit much, and it would be a lot like fallout.

I'd rather they continue the dragon and blades theme of the main quest in a DLC, and maybe even touch more on the akavir.

I find it rather unlikely that a game called Skyrim will have DLC that doesn't actually take place in Skyrim.
