I spend a lot of time answering questions on these forums, when I know the answer. And because I play on PC I tend to answer questions with the PC platform in mind. I have spent hours writing up replies to questions over the years, only to discover that the OP was on a console (and didn't bother to say so) and my time was wasted.
This. A person asks a "how to?" question and you give the "how to" answer to which they reply, "no can do."
I think Bethesda should put icons under our avatars that signify which platform we play on.
Also one in which people will still fail to notice, and still ask "So, what platform do you play on?"
Lol, I keep expecting to see the user name there. When I first came here I was baffled that so many people were named "Members."
I have seen dozens of people on these forums getting snide remarks from pc elitists if you say your on console alot will say "that's what you get for getting low end skyrim" or other remarks similar to this, the of elitistm on these forums are ok but when somone post's a topic and it turns into a discussion of why you should get skyrim on pc and, that us console users are inferior to the pc players it's just plain ridiculous
This is over three decades late. When I first started dabbling with microcomputers, as they were known in the late 70s, many people already had - wait, you guessed it - game consoles. You know, basically a box you hooked in between the antenna and the TV so you could play arcade games from cartridges. Well, well, soon we had computers that hooked up the same way, played the same games, and you could organize recipes or balance a checkbook with! At least, that was the dream...
So yeah, when we see another post about needing some DLC (took me a while to even figure out what that was) then it looks like whining. To put this another way, let's imagine a forum about a different type of appliance, and the likely conversation:
question: "How do I make a milkshake?"
answer: "Put a few scoops of ice cream, some milk and optionally fruit or flavoring (such as a syrup) and mix it in your blender."
reply to answer: "I'm on a toaster."
response to response to answer: "Sigh, why didn't you say so?"
OP: "Why doesn't (maker of toaster) make an accessory to make milkshakes? Not all of us have kitchens. It's not fair!"
