If you do it the lazy way they are ridiculously easy to kill. First thing
you do is to shoot a couple of arrows from a long distance and when
you stamina is used, just run towards them and slam some arrows in their
body just before each time they try to use a shout. If you do it this way they
can NEVER, EVER hit you:) A good strategy especially when you are in a fight
with multiple Deathlords.

why Draugr Deathlords are so deadly?!

I m a fine archer level 30 with a high proficiency in light armor and sneak, yet he detects me much better than other enemies, and even nice enough not to shout, a couple of his arrows kill me :-( even don't have time to heal myself!

i'd rather sneak and run away. any better combat strategy would be appreciated :-)

You can't blame them, really.

After all - if you spent several thousand years in a dark and dusty crypt, with no one to talk to except a bunch of rotting corpses, wouldn't you be a bit hostile too?

Become ethereal to close the distance, then stun lock them with power attacks and bashes, drinking stamina potions as needed.

Get illusion up by spamming muffle then get the invisablility spell. Unless you have no magika then you will just have the use potions

I usually use the staff that casts a daedra to fight for you from one of the daedra quests to fight them for me. I do remember a time I used unrelenting force on a deathlord in a quest as he popped out his coffin funny thing was he flew back into the coffin and disappeared then reappeared behind me on the ground a few seconds later. Weirdest thing ever.

When I encounter 'em, I charge in head on...then run like a madman in the opposite direction when my health drops halfway from one swipe of their sword.

They are a high level creature they use dragon shouts and candy send you flying. So they are problematic especially if you get caught by a shout and other enemies surround you while you are trying to get up.
