Why does Fallout not have more ghoul wannabes?

I'd rather die than live forever as a rotting corpse.

On the internet no one knows you're a rotting corpse.

I meant male basis, anybody can stick their junks in any hole. lol I don't think male ghouls have working reproductive organs.

It is apparently possible for Harland, a male ghoul to have six. So I think males can too, disgusting a thought as all of that is.

The thing is ghouls seem to be increasingly more functional as the series progresses. In F1 they couldn't move fast because they were constantly in pain, or for that matter even wear clothes other than rags because the chaffing hurt so much. In F02 there were ghouls with armor and running, and in F3 they were pretty much stinking and ugly, but otherwise no other shortcoming. By NV even feral ghouls wore armor and sprinted faster than any human...

You had plenty of ghouls complaining of aches, pains and parts falling off. Doesn't sound pleasant.

What defines the quality of the SM generated is how much radiation they have in their systems when they mutate. Ordinary wastelanders don't usually amount to anything much higher than Harry's level, but a vault dweller for instance would always become far stronger and more intelligent after becoming a SM.

Well you have half the formula, the other half is previous exposure to FEV.

Most of the governments supply of FEV was stored at the West Tek Research Facility.[later renamed the glow] The great war wiped the surface clean and released it all into the atmosphere. The radiation neutralized the mutation properties of the virus however the people exposed to it were partially immunized to its effects. This partial immunity was past down to future generations.
So when The Master comes along to try and create his super mutant army. Those dipped in the FEV who were partially immune turned out like idiots.
This is the real core reason why a vault dweller makes a better super mutant as they wouldn't be partially immune to the effects of FEV.

This is also how how the Enclaves modified FEV virus plan works. Wastelanders and super mutants would be killed by the virus while those descendants from people sealed in vaults or similar shelters would be unaffected. This is why the abducted the citizens from Vault 13 and Arroyo. They needed a test group of pure humans[and of course they couldn't experiment on enclave citizens] and they needed a sample group of wastelanders and who better then the tribals of Arroyo who largely descendant from those who followed "The Vault Dweller" into exile from Vault 13.

They just can't reproduce.

Also, Feral ghouls still have a LITTLE humanity/ghoulamity in them.

I personally don't have a problem with the way ghouls look, Charon was almost always my follower in FO3 and Raul in NV. But the thought of their... we'll say reproductive activities is a little sickening. However, given the choice to be gracefully ghoulified like Desmond I would take it. He got to keep his hair and his mustache and his skin is surprisingly intact.

Ah yeah, for your facts list, they have room tempature or less in body heat, so if someone used a scope or goggles that sees heat then you wouldn't show up.
You'd also be safe from security systems which follow up on body heat.

I loved the Die ary of Trash, I felt it was aimed at a lot of folks here that dicussed wanting to play a ghoul courier, that however may just be me.

Aimed at them, and at the stereotypical "My life is Hell" brand of Teen Angst. Again, read Trash's Die-ary. Oh my life is horrid, I want to be a ghoul, like omigod why is my hair falling out oh life is so unfair, wah wah wah.

Lol true. and thanks.
"Teen angst" I go through days like that now, and have passed much water the bridge as well, but then I'm shallow, and still have wonderful hair.

if i recall,(and i think it was a conversation with someone in gecko, or maybe necropilis)

only some people become ghouls when exposed to radiation over a long period of time, and most still feral. most just die.

correct,if someone is living a longer in an area with low radation levels, the higher chance is of him becoming a normal ghoul,if someone is exposed to very high-high radiation lev. once u might as well die...or if someone is living a longer in an area with high radiation lev. its the same he either dies or become a feral...just fallout universe theory...

Maybe at the very end of my life, I would opt to be ghoulified, but I think it's all best summed up by Nova's statement "I don't mess with Johnnies squishier than me". So yeah, maybe if I was too old to live much longer, and had no interest in love at that time, sure, I'd do it.
