Why does a statue have the best armor?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 12:41 pm

Why did bethesda keep the coolest looking armor in a statue, the dragonborn armor that Talos is wearing is unwearable, why would bethesda do this to us, the armor that are given to us as wearable look weird and uncomfortable but the only armor that i wanted to wear as i first played skyrim is unwearable, damn shame.
edit: actually i think that i was mistaken, the armor that i was referring to was the one that ysgomar wears, not talos.

Only a divine can acquire the armor of Talos.
You are just a mere mortal.

So have others. But it doesn't really matter. Armor is armor, someone could easily smith a set that looks the same.

ysgramor was a mortal too and he's wearing it, i say that it should still be somewhere in skyrim, buried, waiting to be found.

no they haven't, if you are referring to previous Tes games than those were not the extinction of life, Alduin was actually going to destroy everything, he is the world eater after all.

You could get a piece of Talos's armor in Oblivion. I did not wear it though, smelled funny.

If you like it so much, go mod it. I swear people find EVERYTHING to complain now. A bunch of games have armors on their loading screen characters, online banners, statues etc. that are un-obtainable weapons and armor, but it's only bad when Skyrim does it. Grow up, you can't get everything you want.

no, what i am complaining about is the fact that they kept the best looking armor as unavailable, i just don't understand why they couldn't make epic armor like that for us to wear. is it too much to ask to feel like i have achieved god status after playing hundredths of hours. also, i would certainly like to mod it, except that i do not own skyrim on the pc, nor do i have a very powerful pc

A bit harsh don't you think? I don't like complainers either, but I didn't really get the feeling this was a serious complaint, just mentioning something that would be nice to have. Although I could be wrong. Also, other games might have people making the same posts on their forums, but this is about Skyrim, so it wouldn't make sense to complain about a completely different game here?

Right now, I will only complain that I haven't even seen that armor yet, but when I find I will surely complain for not being able to wear it! ;)

thank you for the support, i am not complaining, it is merely a desired that i would have much liked to have, like in oblivion when you get the armor after you have completed the mq.

Only Nirn was going to get destroyed, not Oblivion. Also, another kalpa would have begun. I actually don't know what would happen when the mortal plane enters a new kalpa, but I bet man and mer would rise again. Also, Dagon was likely to make a large part of the mortals immortal, assign them as the playthings of the Kyn. (like what happened in paradise with the mythic dawn)

did you see that look on alduins eye, he wasn't just planning to destroy nirn, he was planning to eat the gods themselves. that dragon was crazy with power.

Just wait until the construction set is released, make a modder request and wait patiently until someone finishes it. Install the mod, fetch the armor and have fun.

He actually kills/destroys aedra when he's eating the world. The earth bones are the "remains" of the aedra who gave their life for the creation of the mortal plane. Some had enough power to live on as spirits, especially the eight divines. But I'm no lore buff. If you want a good and thorough explanation of the creation myth and metaphysics, go to the the lore section.
I don't think he was able to overthrow the eight plus one. Sure, he was powerful as the overlord of the Dovah, but he couldn't enslave the whole world on his own. It's told he has the ability to eat the world, but I think he'd establish the old rules again, the dovah ruling over Tamriel and enslaving the mortals. He couldn't even keep his own ranks in check.

unfortunately i play on the 360, and i was just merely expressing a desire, i don't really care if i don't have that armor.
