why has power armor been neglected?

Post » Thu Jun 16, 2011 11:57 pm

although they did a great job on the enclave remnants armor, theres was no real change for brotherhood armor. the NCR armor is pretty much the same as brotherhood and thats it, theres no desert camo power armor, theres no outcasts armor, no [censored] talking stim pack injecting power armor, no hellfire armor even though its talked about more then once. whats the deal? and even in this new download theyre just adding that weird armor that personally i think looks like crap. give the fans what they want, and what we want is more power armor

Fans want power armor? Didn`t know I did. But ofcourse it wouldn`t be bad to have all those power armors from Fallout 3. It wouldn`t be a whole lot of work since they already exist...

The Power Armor has to have a reason and has to fit the story.

Brotherhood Outcasts wouldn't make sense on the West Coast, if the Outcasts from the Capital Wasteland traveled back home they'd be welcomed as part of the Brotherhood so they'd no longer be outcasts.

Hellfire armor would be nice, even if the stats were adjusted.

To be perfectly honest I'm not looking for more power armor, but I wouldn't object to its inclusion.

What's wrong with the T-51b Power Armor and Helmet?
Its pretty good.
But I'd rather use the Desert Ranger Combat Armor/Helmet. Its lighter and you walk faster.
But I'm pretty much indifferent about Power Armor.

Well, most of those power armor was seen on the East Coast. The Enclave (Makers of the Mk. II, Mk. II Tesla, and Hellfire armors) was destroyed, and there is practically 0 traffic between East and West coasts. Outcast PA was neglected, since Outcast Ideals = Western BoS ideals. There was only one Medic Power Armor- and that's on the East Coast, not the west. Finally, Remnant Armor is not classified as Power Armor.

They didn't neglect Power Armor- Obsidian simply returned it to it's rarity in the Fallout Universe. Because that's what the ORIGINAL fans wanted.

They should have made a sixy power armor. Make it look precisely like that of normal power armor, except it has vibration features, and a sixy male/female voice talking to you.

They could advertise it for lonely soldiers! x3 "Tired of holding down Anchorage? Need a sort of escape? The new Mk 2 Lovedove Power Armor. It sports vibration extruders for that 'special' place, and you even get a sixy seductress to keep you sane while you share a shower with a bunch of dudes."

But there is going to be a stimpack injecting power armor in Old World Blues. Also I feel the crap you have to go through to get to be able to wear PA is unnecessary you either join the BoS or get Gannon to join you and do much of the main storyline until he feels like saying "Hey could you use some PA?"

The NCR Slavage PA isn't really PA and they could've expanded on that by going out to get servo-motors so it could become PA (I like it's slim design). It wasn't really neglected its just rare, PA is the best armor there is, can't have people everywhere just wearing it and walking around (unlike some other games I know of).

How about some powered light armor? The heavy stuff slows me down too much. I like to be sneaky and fast. I think a new technological faction of bad guys with some cool powered armor would bring a nice challenge.

It doesn't change for a reason. And it has to fit. Outcast armor doesn't fit, Medic armor doesn't fit (it's supposed to be a prototype that never made full production). The NCR is isn't much different for the same reason the BOS armor isn't different, there are only so many pre-war models of the armor. Enclave is an exception in that they had resources, but no one else does. Also, you do realize the NCR armor is salvaged from the war with the Brotherhood?

Yes I know, I also know it was NCR scientists that ripped out the servo-motors.

This is a light armord bias game(many cool/rare LA, several LA perks, no perks for other armer types, ect), but thats all right with me cause I usualy wear light armor anyway. It would be cool if they put a new prototype armor in, but I probly wouldnt wear it unless they also put a perk in that lets you run slightly faster in it, cause right now, when I wear power armor, I feel like a :turtle: .Well protected, but WAAAAY to slow.

I would rather have a power armor perk that enhances my current power armor than have new power armor.

I wear all types of power armor, depending on my mood and strategy.

They probably got sick of the common belief "Fallout = Power Armor".

Well they shouldn't have made their most popular Fallout game sport a cover with a BoS paladin on it. :unsure2:

I'm assuming you're talking about FO3. That was Bethesda. They'll give you guys more power armor than you can shake a stick at with FO4. Count on it.

Obsidian is... well let's just say they're like us old veterans plus the developer badge. They'll troll the newcomers at every chance they get.

I agree completely, but obviously the OP isn't big on the lore (like too many people on these forums). For the most part, I think he just wants to look cool.

Aside from that, Bethesda imo didn't buy Fallout because they wanted to, and I quote "keep the spirit of the Fallout universe alive" they want to make money off of it. TES is there creation, so naturally they'd treat it better than Fallout. This is why I'm worried about it going back into Bethesda's hands with FO4.

Every fallout game has had power armor on the cover until new Vegas. Fallout 1 had t-51b, fallout 2 enclave advanced power armor, tactics had Midwestern brotherhood power armor, fallout 3 had t-45d.

They have a light armor perk so they should also have a perk for medium and heavy armor as well.
