Why so much hate?

Trolls, fan boys, Neutrals, Retards, YesMen, Nostalgics, Pro Obsidian, Pro Bethesda... Hell, this forum is a wasteland with it's own factions. It's almost as fun as the real game.

lol.

Yeah they're working on a fix.

I gained fame with the trolls when i complained about invisible walls but they still shooting at me on sight.

Then i tried to open a dialog with [intelligence 7] with the pro Obsidian but since i'm idolized by the Pro Bethesda, they won't let me enter their bunker.

And the Moderators... seriously they are way overpowered!

I hope the next patch will fix this.

Fallout 3 was all about exploration, Fallout NV is all about role playing. They are just 2 different sub-genre of RPG. It would be like comparing Diablo 2 and World of Warcraft. Both have tons of similar skills and revolve around dungeon crawling, but they are COMPLETELY different styles of RPG.

Don't get me wrong here, Fallout is an awesome game and when i started playing New Vegas just like in Fallout 3, I had this feeling inside me saying "i wanna explore" lol. But see the problem is that there are so many bugs (as to be expected in this genre of game), they get get really annoying. I'm glad i don't have the save game issue some console gamers have.

@OP:

Who the @#$% are you?

People are entitled to hold negative views that disagree with you, people are also entitled to not feel happy with a product either through content, glitches or game mechanics.

There's nothing wrong with those of us who may not be happy about the game, for whatever reason, but there is something wrong with someone who prefers to [censored] about how we feel, just so they can progress their own viewpoint.

Edit:

And get some time up on the forums before you refer to us as 'trolls'. A dose of growing up might help you, as well.

You need to learn some forum respect yourself bub. And maybe you will grow up a little now that you know your own argument applies to my side as well.

I'm sick of coming on the forums and seeing all the complaints about the game I'm really enjoying. It's a natural to defend things one likes. If you like a certain football team, for example, but every time you met up with a group of people who also like football and they bad mouth your team wouldn't you say something?

This forum is more like a complaint hotzone than a healthy gaming forum where people share ideas and experiences and help other people enjoy the game more. Something's just naturally more fun when you know lots of other people are enjoying it. But when I come on the forums and people demand apologies, request sweeping and ridiculous changes to the game, and say they're disatisfied with the game even thought they're still playing it... it just bothers me.

I don't even know what you're on this forum about... if you enjoy Fallout so much why are you mad at me when I'm defending this game?

EDIT:

Your acting (notice the word choice) like a troll.

One other thing, I don't think this game is perfect either and I've mentioned in other posts changes I'd like to see etc but I hope it was atleast constructive.

Most of the hate is comming from the bugs. But even those people think the game is great.

Thank goodness for unofficial mods that fix alot of bugs/glitches.

Not saying you should leave but why do you go here if you don't like hearing people complain about the game?
And I wouldn't complain so much if they'd just FIX ENERGY WEAPONS ALREADY! :banghead:

Maybe he/she comes here because he/she'd like to have intelligent discussions about a great "return-to-form" Fallout game and all he/she's faced with every day is whining and complaining about how New Vegas isn't like Fallout 3 or how many bugs it has, etc, ad nauseum. It doesn't bother me that much because, as I already stated, I sort of expected it to be even worse - but I understand exactly how he/she feels.

Most of the invisible walls are on mountains and such, which they don't want you to climb. I've been irritated by it too but I don't understand the mass amounts of complaining about it I've seen on the forum. It's really not that big of a deal.

As for the [censored]ing over not being able to take a straight shot into Vegas from Goodsprings: they did that on purpose, specifically so that you wouldn't shoot straight into Vegas and the main quest, complete it, then complain the game was too short when you missed out on all of the content they directed you toward when you took the long route. There were options in FO1 and FO2 that would let you beat them in 5 or 10 minutes, it didn't mean that was how the developers wanted the game to be played.

It took me awhile but eventually i looked deep within myself... And realized that this game is much better than fallout 3, but isn't as good as fallout 2.

Well it's an official game forum.
Lots of different opinions will swarm those places.
Looking for a calm and constructive thread to post in can be hard.

I don't get it. I think this game is great. It's better than fallout 1, and fallout 3 (didn't play fallout 2).

Fallout 1 has a fraction of the weapons, most people don't even talk to you, the graphics are ancient, there are fewer quests, fewer mechanics, etc.
AND PEOPLE ARE STILL SAYING ITS BETTER. Maybe there weren't many bugs but come on that game is tiny comared to these. I understand why people like Fallout 1 - I do too. But I like it in a nostalgic way...

Fallout 3 had some [censored] perks (especially after broken steel) And fewer quests/weapons. There were pleanty of bugs/glitches/crashes in that game as well. There was less overall content and the RPG element was less of a factor.

Now they've gone and added several new and interesting features, made the game much more balanced, and promoted character development... and people are [censored] complaing?

I just read some thread where a guy has already spent 117 hours on this game (ya what a croc) and hes UNHAPPY WITH IT? ???!!!
WHAT THE [censored] DUDE? You spent the equivalent of 3 work weeks since the time it's been released and you think this game isn't good enough? WOW! I barely spent that much time in the year I've owned fallout 3.

WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?

There is a massive ammount of content in this game with pleanty of realistic replay value and people are wanting apologies? Making unrealistic demands...
Granted the bugs are frustrating, and in all honesty I feel the release date should've been pushed back. However, it's nothing unfixable or even gamebreaking (except for some people I guess)
I'm sure they'll patch it up soon enough, and all the trolls can return to their dismal caves.

Just from me obsidian I think this game is sweet. Good Job!

The quests in New Vegas are boring. While there are clearly more, most of the quests are boring to play, and some involve long scavenger hunts or require you to got to multiple places and initiate quick dialogue, then go somewhere else and do the same thing.

The game is less balanced in my opinion. Guns are the most useful weapons in the wasteland, Energy weapons are expensive (not as much available ammunition that you don't have to purchase), Explosives feel really weak, and the Guns themselves involve too many real world guns. While its nice to see a few real world guns, I was still hoping that most would have been a Fallout Universe only weapon.

The Bugs are annoying in this game, even worse than in Fallout 3. While Fallout 3 had a large amount of bugs too, most of these did not interfere with quests (some quests cannot be completed because of them), and the Casinos feel really dead (something that wasn't fixed from Fallout 3's lack of people in settlements).

Despite this, Fallout New Vegas is still a great game, I just prefer Fallout 3 more. Also, you probably shouldn't call anyone who claims New Vegas is worse than other Fallout games a troll.

Yeah I don't get it either. Some people have been very unlucky with bugs I suppose, but I think maybe Fallout just has really high expectations and nostalgia attached to it. Remember all the crap about Fallout 3 "not being a true Fallout game"?

I think the game is great too, not perfect but very good. You can't swing a cat without finding a new quest, and that's the main thing... quests. When I think about all the quests and all there is to do in the game I find complaints about invisible walls and other things pretty pathetic really.

Well it is, I think folks forget though that Beth is probably the best out there at making those types of games,

No. Rockstar can make better open-world pure sandbox games. Bethesda throws a [censored] engine on top and then adds some rpg elements. Compare Fallout 3 to RDR (As a sandbox). RDR is definitely better. Now, throw the RPG mechanics on top and which has more in depth? Fallout 3.

well mabye if the fixes weren t so stupid like :

use windows xp 32 bit edition and use an old as hell ati radeon card..... or don't have any codecs installed.... don't have this installed, use this hardware.....

that is lazieness to the max. seriously. if you expect the users to fix your problems then that is a very bad business practice.

If I were a game dev studio I would have tons of types of pcs and even macs to test in my offices. I would hire tons of QA people and make sure I paid them well.

I would not just have dells with xp32 bit edition. I would have every operating system known to man there, even windows server 2008 and windows server 2008 R2 and even windows server 2003 and even that clone windows OS reactOS.

There is something microsoft has called MSDN--> use it. I am serious it is awesome and I even have an acct with them for it. I have access to dev OSes for my web dev studio and I also make applciations for GIS pros and I want to test them in every MS OS so I get an MSDN and boom->I have access to al; the OS es MS makes for easy access and even has patches and central support and all that. gamesas should try it it's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

and MSDN also gives you access to the OSes before the mainstream so I got a hold of windows 7 extremly early! as well as the server OSes!

So, you have a less good forum experience because we have a less good gaming experience because Obsidian designed certain things wrong, faulty, unbalanced or didn't have enough of something and so we come here for the forum to tell how we feel about it and make suggestions on what could be changed or tweaked or added to make it a better gaming experience for us and you don't like it.

We're complaining for a reason yknow.
If you're 100% fine with the game then it's great that you're having such a good time with it.
It really is.
But most of us are complaining for a reason and then we discuss those complaints as to what could be done with it and if there is a fix for our problems or if it really is a problem at all.
Anyway, if you want it to be a "healthy gaming forum where people share ideas and experiences and help other people enjoy the game more" then you're going to have to wait a couple of months until the problems a lot of us have is fixed.

grrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

theres a difference between haters and honest fans like me who have loved bethesda softworks since the day they played morrowind!!!!! I love them they are my absolute favorite gaming company and it makes me very sad when they ignore honest people like me's concerns.

I am still sad I cant play FONV becuase I get a BSOD and I get CTDs and all that. I've tried all week to get it working and nothing helps.

this is what makes us angry. we LOVE BETHESDA SOFTWORKS and we WANT THEM TO IMPROVE as a game company. if we hated them we could care less about the success of thier games and we wouldnt pay 60 bucks to troll a forum.

Really?

I can maybe (and that's a big maybe) understand the content part, but do you really think that Fallout 3 had more coherent RPG elements than Fallout 1 or 2? Or even New Vegas for that matter?

What is so drastically different? Perks are every other turn? Some are nerfed? That makes very little difference to me.

Half this thread is flames and flamebait.

Calling one another trolls is against forum rules. Telling someone they are ignorant is against forum rules. Telling someone they just don't know how to play or to in anyway insinuate they are not in the know and you are and teehee hee...tralalalala, I'm right you're wrong, I'm smarter than you and know what the entire world should like in their game and if you have a problem with this game you are dumb and if you like this game you are wrong and all that line of he man posturing is all against the rules and must stop.

I'll try to ensure it does at least in this thread.
