why is there no archery love?

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 11:51 am

There are no fancy Destruction staffs so join the club. Dual wielding staffs is bad ass, but I can't find nothing fancy, and the only remotely special staff not related to destruction I know of is the Skull of Corruption and Wabbajack.

archery is insanely strong by itself.

so now compare it to destruction magic.

they were just too lazy to make many weapons designs

Shush you, your giving away trade secrets.

More bows, more crossbows I hope in dawnguard. Hopefully they bring back spellmaking also. Magic needs something more.

It looks a lot like an Ebony Bow, but I believe it is indeed unique.

... Disregard that I of all people am uncertain about this.

Bow of Shadows is the only Daedric artefact that is a bow and that only appeared in one game, Morrowind. Auriels bow is possibly the most famous of bows you can get that is an artefact and should be a welcome return if it resurfaces in Dawnguard. :goodjob:

Why are there no bow artifacts? By artifact I mean something with a unique look and effect. It seems Bethesda didnt like us archers very much when they created the game.

You gotta be kidding me. Archery is awesome in Skyrim. Man you people gripe about every little thing. It's honestly pretty disgusting.

Bound Bow. Guarantee you no one else in Skyrim has anything like it  Plus it packs quite the punch with that Mystic Binding perk and has the ability to get a permanent soul trap enchantment on it through another conjuration perk

You don't "hold" a shield though. You just wrap your hand around the holding piece thingy...
Like a buckler or a pavise.

Not to mention, it doesn't degrade and you get 100 free arrows! Oh wait, there is no degradation. Booo! At least bound bow still has free arrows.

That shoots arrows made of dragon bones!

Any weapon made out of Dragon bone/scales would be nice.

I'm holding out that ill mabye be able to make my own dragonbone arrows, I'm aware crossbows allow for fletching bolts but I think I'll stay true to my bow

It's funny how Dawnguard is going to implement features that improve archery. Archery isn't shown much love in your case but how is it compared to Destruction? Right...Destruction is shown way more love than archery.

And whats even funnier, is that there is no confirmation on improving Destruction in Dawnguard. Can't say I'm not surprised.

I've never had much trouble with destruction, really. So whats the deal? does it not do enough damage output for you?

Well this thread is based on how archery recieves no love but it's ironic because Destruction magic has recieved the short end of the stick almost everytime.

I mean compared to archery Destruction Doesn't allow the damage to scale, the staves are basically pointless, unable to shoot on a horse, broken spells, unnessesary high magika costs, uselss master spells, no enchantment to increase damage. And yeah I did take that from another post.

What I would much rather see is spellmaking

That bow looks more wood in structure, where as Ebony, in TES lore, is a dark heavy metal. Plus they dont even look the same.
