I love the TES series, and think Skyrim is the best of all. Just being able to walk around off-road and discover the amazing number of dungeons/caves in this game is great. And think of it, you don't need a tank and healer and 2 other DPS.

The quest-lines are very good - although some are better than others. And parts of the quests could have been finished better. I hate it when guild members seem to be ignorant of your accomplishments/status within the guild, but a guard in a small town on the opposite side of the map hails you as the new harbinger, or recognizes you as the dragonborn who recently .... (and we'll leave that there so I don't have any spoilers here) - while the jarl who helped you barely acknowledges your existence. And I was pleasantly surprised when, during the civil war quests, General Tulius mentioned something I had done during a meeting in another questline - it's small things like that, that make it worthwhile to do the quests to begin with.

I'm at 591 hours with 5 characters, and still need to do some quests (mage college, bards, etc.), and find more dungeons, but I think that will hold me till mid-May. By then, I should be around 700 hours which I think is a great investment for a game and well worth the $60.00. I will switch to D3 then, and likely won't be playing Skyrim anymore. Some years down the road, maybe to continue with one of my other characters, but we'll see what happens. I usually don't replay a game (and I'm not an RP'er) - but the TES series is different.

I started playing because 1. It's a medieval RPG, and those hit my squeaky really devoted fan nerve, and 2. Because I want to be someone I know could never and will never be. I want to go out and kill some bandits, rob people, kill them in their sleep!

I play Skyrim cause i love the way i feel when i 'm in...It's not me anymore...i love rpg and with skyrim i really try to stick with my rpg settings.
U know wash myself once a day, eat, drink, sleep, not run much, cook, work(in a mill right now), making the 7000 steps once a week, fishing...
Its an amazing game but nothing will let u play as your mind want u to play it...

Actually, I play Skyrim, and a D2/LOD mod daily. The mod made D2 better, and the guy that made it should work for Blizzard. He really knows his stuff - basically redid the entire game.

Why? To escape from the dreary reality without having to use drugs. (Drugs are damn expensive)

I don't. Not anymore at least. Got other thigns to play, real busy at school, writing a novel and tons of other stuffs I neglected while playing Skyrim. I have played 300+ hours, and that was more or less playing several hours every day for a long time.
I wait for the DLC and quality questmods to come out. I will give it some time to dust down, then I'll take it up again, almost as good as new. I find that Skyrim have less replayability than earlier TES games, so It's sort of pointless anyway.
I've done it all, and most of it are the same repetitive stories with a different theme.

Well.. I had 60$. I had no life. I had gas. I had a car. I lived near a Gamestop.

Yeaaah.. I skipped Arena, Daggerfall, and Oblivion, so I just decided to get Skyrim for the sole sake of ...nostalgia?

To live another life in another world filled with unimaginable beauty and untold infinite adventures where i can even play myself if i want or some heroic image from any source possible.

I enjoy the game. It's a fun game and allows me to just live in a world where I can be a catperson and forget all about my problems for at least 5 hours. I know that sounds pathetic to say, but the worlds in the Elder Scrolls games are worlds I feel safer in for some reason. Back to the basemant for me, I suppose.

I play for a lot of the same reasons people have said. I played RPGs when I was a teenager and computer RPGs when computers came along, so Skyrim has been making my inner thirteen year-old very happy. I never played the other Elder Scrolls game and I don't really know why. I guess I was just into other things for that period.

I'd be curious about the ages of people playing Skyrim. I would be in the Over 40 Club.

I'm 17. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the people who bought Skyrim are in my age group.

46 here. The Elder Scrolls covers every age group possible. I've even heard of at least one eighty year old playing Oblivion.

21 here, I think there was poll a while back that showed the age range. i can't remember how it turned out though

What else you going to do with it?

I've been playing the games since Daggerfall, and aside from being more addicting than heroin, they're extremely fun and well crafted. Skyrim is the best of the bunch, IMHO, and I can easily see myself playing it when the The Elder Scrolls VI drops.

Also, it's one of only a handful games on the market that allow you to play a proper Assassin (my favorite type of character).

I play it for the exploration and open-world adventuring, although both of those are about done by this point. Some of the fighting is pretty fun, especially the archery. I was hoping for more depth and replayability, but settled for a good action adventure game instead.
