i'm gonna tell you why i want rage, because FONV was a huge dissapointment as a post apocalyptic game and it doesn't have very many good locations or enemies to fight on the map, and since i like post apocalyptic worlds with lots of combat it seemed right up my alley, i'm gonna preorder it on payday, sep isn't all that far off.

The AI is really something to behold. If you haven't watched this video, I think you should...

I'm waiting to see a little more. Would like to see more combat, or maybe I should just watch videos that are already up?

Either way, I'm interested but not sold entirely. I'm sure it's not exactly like Borderlands, but I have to admit it looks similar. And I didn't care to much for Borderlands, it was too linear and lacking character depth. And the dialogue was extremely weak/non-existent. I like my games to have some depth.

I wanted (may potentially want again) Rage because it's an id Software game, even though Bethesda's now humping the game's face like a face hugger, and looking to exploit the game by slapping their name all over it like they had something to do with its creation. However the fact that the game has taken rather sudden changes here and there, including the possibility of no SDK upon release makes me question the investment, because I've bought every id game since Wolf3D for two reasons, because it's id and because of the mods that come with it.

The mods which recreated Doom 1 and Doom 2 in the id Tech 4 engine was amazing. As were the mods which recreated Hexen and Heretic. There's a lot of potential that is always included in a game's engine, but the developers have to make something which fits in with the IP if it's not a new IP, which means you can't see the full potentials of creativity being used by the developers. id has always brought quality to their games, and I have no reason to believe that Rage will be any different. But if there's no SDK release because ZeniMax/Bethesda decide not to allow for one, then it's a definite no go for me.

Doom 4 on the other hand, I may buy regardless because it's Doom 4. I've played all of the Doom games/expansions (including Master Levels and Final Doom), etc. id tells me that Doom 4 is going to possibly take place on Earth like a reboot version of Doom 2. All I ask is that id avoids the gravity gun crap, and hell runes this time, let Half-Life 2 do its own thing, and id you guys do your own thing which to me is a better thing that you do anyway. I love the run and gun game play of Doom 1 and Doom 2, and while the visceral slow-paced corridor shooter of Doom 3 is a nice change of pace in the franchise, let's see some more run and gun.

Rage the game looks kinda cheesy so far.

The only thing I am looking forward to is multiplayer, mods, map building editing tools.

Tech5 engine map editor... just think it could be minecraft on crack? We'll see...

it ain't gonna be cheesy, id makes good FPS with nice locations, smooth combat mechanics, and the AI is pretty tactical and challenging, plus their game worlds are nice and Rage is is huge world according to bethesda and i'm really looking forward to it. their games are pretty polished.

ID

It's just id, all lowercase always. It's so named for the id, the impulsive portion of your brain which can and may operate without thought.

RAGE is by far my most anticipated game of 2011. Aside from the graphical beauty of this game, there are several other reasons why I can't wait 'til its release. Let me start off by saying that the Fallout series is by far my favorite of all time. It got me HOOKED on post-apocalyptic themes and settings which is what RAGE is based on. However, first-person shooters have always been my genre of choice when it comes to gaming. I'm also a big fan of vehicular combat/racing which is why I was so into Mercenaries, Burnout, Split Second, and Borderlands. RAGE miraculously manages to combine all of these elements into one single game and it has me waiting impatiently. :goodjob: So why do you guys want RAGE? What features attract you the most?

When Borderlands came out I bought the game and fell in love with it. I played that game everyday for almost a year. I love the attention to the environmental details, and the characters personalities. Rage will put Borderlands on the shelf at my house. I cant wait. : )

I love this kind of game, I don't think I've stopped playing borderlands since I got it, so for almost a year and a half, but I need something new and fresh, but within a similar genre/settings, so RAGE seems like the perfect game to satisfy this :) Also,m I love games that I can play co-op with online, and I heard somewhere that RAGE would be getting this :)

I want it because it's going to be the RAGE. Crappy joke.

This basically. There aren't that many good quality post-apocalyptic games out there and idTech is AWESOME and has been making RAGE for years so... It might as well be guranteed to be a great game.

Plain and simple. John Carmack is the King.
Even Todd Howard picks up new ideas from him.

The id pedigree helps. I like the Doom games so I'll try Rage and it will probably be a good game. Unless id stopped making good games...

I want this game for all the above reasons and ONE MORE THING

Just to shoot that acrobatic guy mid air when he is jumping around. Not one video I saw has the player shoot the guy and kill him when he is mid air. I just have that itch to do it and I might not stop my first sitting till I get to do it.

Looks cool, like a serious Borderlands.
Honestly I have no idea, it's on my research list at the moment.
I don't buy games until I've researched enough data about it to know whether it'll be fun or waste of money.
Since it isn't out yet all the info I have will be limited to developer/publisher released info only.
It looks good and I'm excited for it but I can't say I "want it" until I've researched it enough which won't be until a week or two after it's release.

But for now: Looks like a serious Borderlands.
And that's about the only reason atm. :P
