Why do you want RAGE?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:32 pm

RAGE is by far my most anticipated game of 2011. Aside from the graphical beauty of this game, there are several other reasons why I can't wait 'til its release. Let me start off by saying that the Fallout series is by far my favorite of all time. It got me HOOKED on post-apocalyptic themes and settings which is what RAGE is based on. However, first-person shooters have always been my genre of choice when it comes to gaming. I'm also a big fan of vehicular combat/racing which is why I was so into Mercenaries, Burnout, Split Second, and Borderlands. RAGE miraculously manages to combine all of these elements into one single game and it has me waiting impatiently. :goodjob: So why do you guys want RAGE? What features attract you the most?

1. Been a huge Doom/Quake fan for years.

2. Love shooters.

3. Id's Tech 5 engine is supposed to kick Epic's Unreal Engine in the ass.\

4. I love competitive multiplayer

5. E-3 footage and other demos look really good

6. Post Apocalyptic--need I say more?

I've been a big Doom and Quake fan for ages and really looking forward to Rage.

Love the whole post apocalyptic theme.

Love shooting the hell out of stuff.

Lately I've been playing a lot of RPG / Fantasy games and I enjoy that stuff a lot. It seems to me that it's been a very long time since I really wanted a new shooter. Bring on teh Rage!

Post apocalyptic settings

Love the character designs, clothing, unlike the fallout game plain simple apparels (don;t bash me for this :brokencomputer: )

Cool looking weapon designs

Well that's basically it.

You're rightt. The one thing I don't like about Fallout is the clothing.

Why do I want RAGE?

It reminds me of 1993/1996 fondly and of Id Software. :) And by 1993/1996, I mean games such as Doom and Quake. Funny enough, in that time era I was just a wee lad but did enjoy Doom/Quake for the FPS aspect. :P

I can't really describe it. Aside from Skyrim, this is my most anticipated game. I've had it on pre-order for like a year now. The visual effects, gameplay, and the town of Wellsprings drew me in.

1st IP from id for ages.

I want to try to play it at ultra settings.

Been a fan of id since I 1st played the shareware version of DOOM on my 486.

Interested in seeing the engine - Yes I believe it'll smoke Unreal & Cryengine.

Interested in seeing if id can make a fun game and not just an idtech5 tech demo - I think I'll be happy.

Rage the game looks kinda cheesy so far.

The only thing I am looking forward to is multiplayer, mods, map building editing tools.

Tech5 engine map editor... just think it could be minecraft on crack? We'll see...

I'm normally not a huge fan of the first-person perspective and largely avoid it in favor of third-person games. There are notable exceptions (Elder Scrolls, Deus Ex, Timesplitters,) and I hope that this will be one.

I want RAGE mostly because I *LOVE* post-apoc settings, I love Fallout, I loved Borderlands, etc. I'll try anything in that setting.

I want it because there's a faint glimmer of hope that it might have co-op mode. Other than that we don't really care.

I'm as excited about RAGE as I was about ETQW...because it's a new FPS from idsoftware who have made sure every game they are associated with is fun; however, ETQW failed to provide wheel&pedal controller support for driving the vehicles, so it stopped being fun due to the frustration of trying to drive a vehicle with a keyboard & mouse. I'm hoping that they have fixed this.

1. Awesome graphics.
2. New iD IP.
3. Gameplay somewhat similar to Borderlands, but actually good. (Not hating on Borderlands, just not my taste)
- Awesome car battles
- Tons of weapon choices
- Post Apocalyptic-like world

Borderlands was actually a Dystopian game. :disguise:

The AI is really something to behold. If you haven't watched this video, I think you should...
