Will you go for Extended Mags?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:31 am

Duct tape, except on a heavy soldier/engi I plan on making. He'll have drums!

I stand here^

but i'm guessing it goes to teamwork again,if all play as they should be it won't be a problem,in this case the soldiers must not forget to share/give ammo always.

The only thing I am going to say is that I hope soldiers resupply me. (They better or no weapon buff for them!) I always use scavenger in CoD cause I am afraid of running out of ammo.

But never mind that last statement. I will use duct-taped mags.

I've always been a fan of the duct tape mags.

I did use extended mags during my Black Ops run on CoD. But that reason was because of the fact bullets dropped mofos in a few shots with a FAMAS.
The weapon had a quick enough reload already. Just having the ability to kill one extra person to able to pump a few more bullets into a dude without stopping is nice.

BUT ENOUGH OF THE GAME OF FISH! (I mean CoD aka Call of Duty).
THIS IS BRINK!

So my real answer will depend on the reloading speed, and all the other stats that would drop if I put an extended mag on thus weapon of choice, or can just duct tape them and be fine with a little other downsides from having that picked.

Also in another note: Man this is quite a Poll we got here. Better start taking bets :celebration:

Precisely why I only play CoD4 when I'm REEAAALLY bored and totally sick of all my other games... too many no-skill-kills.

Extended. More Rounds downrange at a time seems like it should prevent those "oh crap reload reload reload.... Dead" moments from happening as often, and I'll be able to give my team better support as well.

Switch weapons?

You have two for a reason.

Switch weapons?

You have two for a reason.

But that split second can sometimes be the death of you.

I mean tbh when this happened in MAG, the pistols were hardly a viable option because although they were powerful, they had TERRIBLE irons and very slow fire rates. In CQC it was insanely hard to make the shots hit if you were both Light guys strafing around, and anything beyond close range was just as hard.

MAG got me into the habit of favoring larger mags, and I incorporated it into my play-style. Admittedly it will be easier in Brink, especially as a medium/heavy, but then you still have to actually swap your weapon. Swapping is faster than reloading, but you never have to do EITHER mid-firefight with Extended Mags.

I'll be using duct tape mags

but a choice between the two i would pick standard mags
makes me spray less and aim more

Screw stat penalties! When i'm in a tight squeeze with the same gun as my enemy, I'm likely to lose with my noob self, but when i have an extended mag... then i can lay waste to him as he reloads and runs to the store to buy a crying towel :foodndrink:

I'm another one that prefers the duct taped mags. But really it depends on the gun, and personal preference with each weapon. I have to give it to extended mags though. For everything that can't have a drum mag or taped mags, I will definitely be using extended mags. A grip will balance it out anyway...... . . .

Depends on the weapon and how the speed of the reload timing is for extended mags. I'm usually out extended mags on a assault rifle, but like Super Pangolin had said that it just make want to hold on the trigger for your gun longer even longer than a regular mag until you got to reload. However, duct tape mags has a faster reload every time after reloading on a odd number (1, 3, 5, and so on).

Quicker Reload w/out stat change beats lower stat longer mag any day I say.

There's still a stat change, but more ammo may beat less ammo more often with Brink.

Anyways, I get the no "both" option and I assume we consider the drum mag an extended mag, but why no "neither" option. I don't know that I will use either at this point depending on the accuracy/stability decline. I generally value my accuracy over the number of bullets I can miss with :P

Duct tape is for the pros who like the quick reload to finish you off fast. Or just switch to the pistol in your speed holster.

Indeed. Even if it doesn't give you more ammo I like to reload as fast as possible. The less time my gun spends empty, the better.

I will use drum mags and stuff for some weapons though. Helps when spraying down a group of enemies, for example.

I love accuracy too much to spray..........unless it's my Machine Pistol when I am sliding past you.

Hard to say on this.
I could just take Sprinting Reload and hope they can't aim for crap.

Agreed would rather have Sprinting reload and have my gun have the best stats possible rather then making the stats suffer for a extra couple bullets.
