I know even if it was in it wouldent change future lore. In future they could just say it was vice versa or they could just say yh we had a wand so it fixed it.

The way I see it now ( after the spoil ) is much better than any explanation afterwards.

that the volkihar isnt dead? it is. the volkihar are supposed to phase through ice, breath ice and be icey and paranoid. and those transformations are not a part of any vampire clan prior to the DLC (and it is painfully clear they only made them to look like victor from underworld)

Very good , the way it's supposed to be.

i still hate it, bethesda made something just to appeal to fans of cliched vampries even though there is nothing like it in the lore and they probably will nto give any reason to explain how the volkihar have wings or how they have not been found and eradicated eras ago since they are so unsubtle (as you can see, the DLC vampires bring out the worst in me, but i like the rest of the stuff )

although, mist is awsome...

Well if I recall they hinted in the book "Immortal Blood"

That the Volkihar are the outright strongest and most mysterious of the Vampire races and that everything about them isn't known (which could and probably will explain the Vampire lord form) and are rivaled only by the cunning and incognito nature of the Vampires in Cyrodil (Oblivion's vampires)

Its cool that they are making them their own type of Vampire rather than a clone of the Oblivion vampires that can go out in the sun and not get hurt.

Now the Volkihar can just snack on any living humanoid thing rather than having to sneak into houses to feed on sleeping people...though I think feeding on awake people outright kills them..and they are changing it so if you feed you get stronger rather than if you starve you get stronger...and can eventually turn into mist.

Which makes sense since Lore wise...the Oblivion vampires are the only ones that feed on sleeping people.

Im liking the idea of the DLC..make the Volkihar their own type of vampire.

Not necessarally, if one only covers up the truth its easy to tell what the truth is. Cover up the truth and the lies and nobody knows whats true.
