Windhelm house WTF : V

I have been trying to buy this house for days now! I completed the stormcloak quests and did the 5/5 citizens help quests. I stand near the graveyard the night and nothing ever happens to start the blood on ice quest to buy that damn house.

What exactly do i need to do? Take off my armor and dance in the nvde?

You could go to Colixtos House of Curiosities, pickpocket the key to his chest from him, then take his journal from the chest. I'm not sure that'll start the quest but worth a try.

I am level 81 done the main quest and i dont want to pickpocket anyone as i am no thief.

The prerequisite is go in and out of Windhelm a total of 4 times.

Do you see a quest marker above one of the graves? Nothing happens or is triggered when you approach it? If yes, look around on the ground and start to follow the blood spatters through town, it will get you to were you need to go.

or to start
should be a corpse over a grave
talk to the guard
question the witnesses,
report to the guard,
talk to jorleif
get assistance from jorleif
examine the cime scene

That should be more than enough to get you going.

im go in and out 100000000 times... finish the mainquest.. finish stormcloak quests.. finish all quest for all people in windhelm... but nothing happens.... :brokencomputer:

there are some bugs mentioned (e.g/ did you sell the "beware the butcher" fliers? there is a console fix for that one.)

Same with me, and well... I have been inside Hjerim I have all The journals I know who The killer is. But The Quest wont start. Perhaps because Viola Giordano is dead on my game? She died in a random dragon attack.

You could aways take the item and place it back inside their pockets, call it "finger training". :hubbahubba:

not much help here but i finished the empire questline, which let me buy the house without doing anything, right when i walked in the house the quest started (wouldn't let me decorate until i walked in there i think)

I've had this problem to she wont end up on the grave no matter what I do I wait for 60 days in game she's still alive I find all the books on the killer shes still alive I smack the [censored] out of her with a fire spell shes still alive bethesda fix this broken quest so we can get the best house. :banghead:

Go to the windhelm version of the house of oddities (cant remember what its called but its who buys the necromancer amulet) and pick the lock on the chest above the door. That should give you what you need to end the quest

I got the butcher journal and nothing happens i even stuck a didlo up calixes ass.

The steward refuses to sell me the house due to the troubles there. Quest that starts randomly (or doesn't in this case) keeps me from being Thane, keeps me from buying the house.

To become Thane do the rebel quests and then talk to Ulfrich.

i read in internet... if i complete the dark brotherhood quest... the bload on ice quest dont's start.. :facepalm:
