No wonder people hate the game..

Post » Sat Jul 21, 2012 4:18 pm

Hello Everybody !

Finally I can post again , and here's something I came across..

I saw a few Live Streams of Skyrim , just to see how other people play.
Anyway the ONLY ( yes the only ) things I saw were:
  • Power-Gamers
  • People who play the opposite of Role-Playing
You see , someone was fighting a dragon , he carried something around 50 potions , paused the game for two minutes just to take 20 of them .

Someone who played Dawnguard , before the quest began ( in Volkihar's castle , no spoilers here ) he Fast Traveled to Dawnguard's HQ ( Opposite places in Skyrim ) to take some things.

Sure , if people are having fun with that , I don't care , but after I see whines like " I can kill a dragon in 5 seconds " or something like " I finished the game in 5 minutes " , it only makes me sad to see how people are playing.

It was too easy for you ? I want to see you with 3 potions ( something NORMAL you can carry ) Bow and Sword without 50 other sets of Armor taking this dragon down.

I dont understand the title "no wonder people hate the game"
But i agree,Its pretty stupid how some people play skyrim :3 but let them play the way they want, Watch tobuscus play skyrim. oh my god.. He doesnt even listen at the npcs.

There are some that actually roleplay and play the "good" way. Have you seen gix videos?

Well I don't really care how people play , but this method of playing makes it more boring and easy for them , and that's TRUE.

Anyway , I don't watch Skyrim videos as I avoid spoilers but after I've seen these Live Streams , wow.

Yeah, this thread had been started before. Usually goes down an ugly road. :bolt:

So where you on vacation, or lost your internet or something?

Why does it matter how someone plays a game? And more importantly, why does it matter to you how someone plays? Don't like it, don't watch it. Simple.

Because people start complaining about it after, that's the bad part.

Either way, I must agree with the OP. This thread has been done many times before, and IMO, it's all true.

How is pausing to take potion related to RP exprience I have no idea. If the OP suggested that it takes away from action/combat side of the gaming exprience I'd have to agree.

What , you are freezing the time in order to drink 50 potions which magically can be placed in your pockets ?
People think yes sadly..

Sure , if people want to play the opposite of realistic ( not even RP ) , that's not my problem.

You shouldn't, it's not like Bethesda will stop making tes and focus on the online game, if peopleenj oy online games then let them, it probably won't affect TES franchise, more like a spin off.

Anyway on topic, there are people that says the combat is easy and the system need overhaul the best solution is perhaps to add a new difficulty level where it is very hard while the system remain.

It's hard not to care how others people play ~because the game companies care how they play and it influences their designs.
IIRC I read that Bethesda devs were surprised to find out that the UK player's tended to ~actually play the game~ Oblivion in third person; (as I usually do also).
I'm pretty sure that's the only reason FO3 & NV supported it as well as they did; and that Skyrim had special effort to support it.

Now what do you think they will do if the majority of global players tended to ignore crafting, or ignore axes, or ignore the ride-able mounts? (or further ignore any RPG aspect; favoring direct 'in your face' hack-n-slash, over any diplomatic or long term effect solutions?)

** Would it surprise anyone if in TES 6 there were NPC's that talked in the street like, "If only some hero would go East to the haunted cave and defeat the mega-lich and claim the enchanted gauntlets of 'smack down' ~and in doing so, save the town and get paid!"

Wow that scares me , TESVI , only Swords and Shields , no magic , no MQ.

I've finished the main quest 5 times and only have a slight idea what its about. I skip through bit of speech I can to make it quicker.

I never read quests or listen to the people, just get the task and finish it. I've never read a book in the world, I basically have no idea what's going on in Skyrim.

It lets me create my own stories and that's how I like to play.

But I did.
'They don't play like I do, therefore they play the wrong way'. Sorry bud, but it doesn't work like that. You don't have to like the playstyle, but you don't need to rant about it either.

That's the whole answer.
