Skyrim has a finite number of people, so Boethia's request was a 'maybe I'll skip this one' kinda choice for me. However, after having no trouble tolerating the way Lydia would disappear for ages because she couldn't jump down 3 feet, how she constantly exposed me when I was sneaking, how she ran in front of my arrows and somehow had a problem every time I tried to give her gear upgrades, healing potions and food... Finally the dog abuse was too much and she went to the shrine. No more "Stupid dog", Yay!

You know, at first I thought Mjoll was a bada$$, but after getting her some Daedric armor and a few upgraded weapons to go with Grimserver, she's turned into a bit of a Striesand. I took her with me to fight for a couple of Dragon Priest Masks and I sat back and watched her. She almost didnt fight. She was slow, just sat there while bad guys where wailing away on her with their swords/maces, etc and not doing much. Im like "Mjoll, fight back!! Fight!!". I had to go save her. Man she's gotten kinda weak. Im married to her so if she doesnt get any better, Im just going to leave her at home from now on.

When we first started out on quests together she was a complete and total bada$$. We'd get a whole lot of cool animations on our kills, it was like I my Bretan chick character had found her soul mate. Now, she yacks and yacks and yacks a lot mroe than she fights. I'll be like "No Mjoll dear, you just make me some dinner and stay at home, Jordis the Swordmaiden and I are going to hit the town tonight".

Maybe you should wabberjack her to get her to level up.

Don't be a jerk. That's not how things work here. If someone seriously derails a thread that's one thing, otherwise, let the occasional slightly off-topic slide.

If you want a worthless follower Sven and Roggi Knot-Beard are good choices. They can only level to 20 and have pretty limited skills. Plus they are "favor" followers that don't cost you a dime.

Wasn't being a jerk, just giving the guy a useful tip.

I may just try that to see what happens. Wabbajack Mjoll.

Funny because I was just about to retire her butt to home wife only duties, but decided to take her with me on a couple of final missions. Took her with me to deal with Amand Motierre after the whole Emperor thing. Had a bit of a scuffle after fulfilling a dying emperors wish, and Mjoll basically just wrecked the joint. She laid waste to Uthgard the Unbroken (killed her) and Delphine had her butt there as well and Mjoll whipped her a$$ TWICE!! I fast traveled to Solitude and as soon as we arrived, the guards wanted to arrest me. Mjoll was having NONE of that and she ended up killing several guards there. Now I got at least a 2000-4000 bounty there, but the fact that I am once again in love with Mjoll makes it worth it. Her becoming a bada$$ once again saved our same six marriage.

Another follower who I mistakenly thought was weak was Cicero. Have to remember, dude single handledly effed up some of the Dark Brotherhood guys and almost killed the Warewolf husband of Astrid. Gave him an enchanted Daedric dagger and he's a beast follower.

Don't bother. As she is marked "essential" the only thing the Wabbajack will do is cause an explosion. She (or any essential) will never, ever transform.

That rather oafish dude who is your house carl in Markarth when you buy Vlinrel Hall...I must say I do not care for him at all. I basically leave him there just to watch my stuff but he does not come out on missions and quests with me. He is too big and clumbsy to walk about with my character...

Aw man that guy is useless. Same for the housecarl you get for Hjerim. Cant remember which one, but I took one of those dudes with me on a quest to retreive some books for the guy at the College of Winterhold and he was killed like just a hundred feet or so of entering the cave. What a milk toast weak sauce he was. Im like "really dude? Really?" after he lay there dead.

I wish I'd saved myself for J'zargo, instead I married that stupid Dunmer slave Brelyna, she's a pretty good follower, I just wish I was married to Khajiit instead. I sacrificed that dumb bint from Companions, the one who always says "What did you do today? I killed a bear!"

Annoying... Wench....
wait what? You can get married to certain characters?
I didn't know it was possible! Lol

How does that work?

Travel to Riften and stop by the Bee and Barb tavern (if it's your first visit) and talk to the priest of Mara, Maramal, about marriage. If he's not there try the temple. It's essential to talk to him about it in order for the option to become available later. You'll also want to carry an Amulet of Mara, which is a random drop or can be purchased from Maramal.
