Worst Follower

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 3:13 pm

I am about to do Boethiah's Calling, and I am at the part where I need to Lead someone to become trapped by the shrine and slay them. The thing is that I don't know who to take there, I don't want to regret the option that I choose. So in your opinion who do you think is the worst follower?

Any of the ones you can buy for 500 gold. J'zargo is hands down the best though so whatever you do don't sacrifice him. He's the only one to get to level 81.

Calder, housecarl of Hjerim in Windhelm. I got tired of his surly attitude and failure to ever recognize his Thane.

I sacrificed Njardia Stonearm. She's obnoxious and is'nt polite enough to her Harbinger.

Was tempted to sacrifice Lydia to. She's useless.
Was also tempted to sacrifice Calder. He is weak and surely.

Don't sacrifice Marcurio, he's a good follower.

I wish I'd saved myself for J'zargo, instead I married that stupid Dunmer slave Brelyna, she's a pretty good follower, I just wish I was married to Khajiit instead. I sacrificed that dumb bint from Companions, the one who always says "What did you do today? I killed a bear!"

Annoying... Wench....

Oops, he is dead now. Haha, oh well.

Also, I married Njada hahaha. I do regret it though.

Faendal or Sven from Riverwood, depending on which one you helped. Living in Riverwood they are dead meat anyway as that place is always being hit by dragons. In fact, they may already be dead.

I've got a mod that allows all the followers to level with me up to 81, so for me the best follower available is http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Derkeethus (since, you know, he's invincible).

That's cool and all, good for you. But I didn't ask who was the strongest or best follower. Please read the original post before leaving a reply..... -_-

It's a pity you can't take Mercer Frey for a stroll to Boethiah's Shrine, he's the most worthless thief I have seen in my life. All he ever does is break my sneak, run into a gang of Draugr shouting dumb taunts, and then get beaten to pulp within a matter of seconds. Sadly he's essential during that quest, otherwise I would have killed his sorry ass far before that.

I've never finished this quest. I went to the altar and killed everyone. Then the voice told me to find someone to sacrifice.

What if I don't want to?

What's the quest reward if I do?

Grab that guy in the bar upstairs in Windhelm. He's 500 coin and not doing anything else. Lydia would be a good choice, too (or any other housecarl).

It's a Daedric Quest and if you want to complete the Oblivion Walker achievement you must get 15 Daedra Artifacts, this quest rewards you with one of the artifacts.

I sacrificed Njardia also. I took her on before I went to to get the Staff of Magnus, and all she would say after was something like "Oh, so now you're going after a staff? I don't see the point in that." She wasn't much good anyways; she was always casting atronachs while I was trying to sneak around.

Also, I do believe that it's possible to sacrifice NPCs marked as essential. I used console commands to make Njardia essential and forgot to undo it before sacrificing her, but it worked just fine. I wonder if you could break any quests this way..

Don't be a jerk. That's not how things work here. If someone seriously derails a thread that's one thing, otherwise, let the occasional slightly off-topic slide.

If you want a worthless follower Sven and Roggi Knot-Beard are good choices. They can only level to 20 and have pretty limited skills. Plus they are "favor" followers that don't cost you a dime.

Maybe because my character is a female, but he has been fine for me (I have even married him)

The worst for me so far has to be Lydia. She was not too bad with her combat, what got me was her attitude 'I am Sworrrn to carrry your burrrdons' she had to be sent home.
