I use the mini-gun for my heavy class solider, and I love it.

i think snipers are pretty good actually, its just despends on where you are on the map and witch objective you have to do.
Just have a good SMG as a secondary wep and you are fine with the close range.

Snipers are great situational weapons and they own if you are using them for support. If you try to 'lonewolf' with a sniper rifle however you will get slaughtered (as you should because this is a team based game).

Shotguns are terrific, the Mossington is my primary weapon 97% of the time.

The gernade launchers just take getting accustomed to, once you know how to use them and can use them properly in the support role they are supposed to fill they are amazing.

Pistols are insanely awsome. I use the Sea Eagle pistol as my backup pretty much all the time. That thing is crazy good. I love all the pistols in Brink.

I find sniping can help to deter people from attacking positions, especially in the Black Box mission on Security side when you need to prevent the Resistance from hacking bridge controls.
Crouch behind the desk as an engineer and hold enemies off while buffing people and setting up turrets at your flank.

Pistols are great! The Sea Eagle with a COAG scope outperforms most ARs and Light Rifles are mid range. I use it constantly, it's amazing.

I really like MOST of the weaponry in game, and constantly find myself using different load outs.

Just about the only weapons I don't touch are the Rokstedi, FRKN-3K, and the Tampa, with the Tampa being the only one I masochistically return to. I don't use Light rifles or launchers, just not my thing, and I don't care if I'm a (to my surprise) good shot.

I guess I don't like the Gerund too much, if only because it feels like too good of a weapon, while also looking ugly. I do use it when it's time to put on my game face however.

P.S. I must be the only person whom prefers speed slings over fore-grips, but I play on the PC, so I can combat stability issues blind.

You know the Tampa is the 2nd most powerful SMG with 22 dmg per-chest shot, right? Second only to the Carb-9 with 23 dmg? It also seems to have the quickest reload of all SMGs, it's a pretty incredible sidearm for CQC.

Also, Gerund looks sixy. Reminds me of Mk14 EBR.

Those that are ragging on snipers...

Grab one (maybe not with the biggest scope, heck I have iron sights on the semi-auto with my light character) on the last part of Resort (the hack box) and pop people going for the objective (on either side) and you'll cause a mess or on Security Tower where you can really shut down people during the first (demo charge) or final (escort) objectives. If you're on offense for the escort mission you can head up to the sidewall and blast the defending team when the prisoner makes it into that courtyard area/is heading up that ramp. Can really shut down the enemy team, but you might need to be a Solider or, even better, have one come up and refill you periodically. I tend to do it as an Operative so I can be constantly marking the enemy team with homing beacons.

The FRKN-3K... good damage, does fine with a COGA (its definitely a range weapon) the issue that I have with the burst is that there appears to be a delay between when you pull the trigger and when the weapon actually fires. Its the only gun where I've noticed that happening.

FRKN-3k is trash. Never used the Tampa, probably never will.

I don't know what everybody likes about the Galactic SMG, to me it seems like it takes ages to even scratch somebody.

I use speed slings myself. Usually they boost Stability as much as fore-grips. And i'm on Xbox 360.

here are some of the worst weapons in the game i think....

FR3N AR damage is good but with that slow burst fire an auto pistol can take you out before you fire again

any grenade launcher they dont do damage only knock back and stun for like .00005 of a sec
(seriously grenades are a joke and the stun is crap i could handle if it only knock down but theres NO STUN AT ALL).

a pistol if not a light class

shot guns ive put rounds into a person with a buff and it took the whole clip

if anyone else has something to add go ahead or you dont agree would like to hear why

Sniper rifles (i not saying they svck) the maps arnt sniper maps they are close quarter battles most of the time or mid range this games not built for a long range sniper.

The OP is so wrong, it makes me sick.

FR3N AR + COGA Scope = Nice mid-range sniping. If you've got double engi buff, it only takes 2 trigger shots (6 bullets) to kill someone.

Grenade Launcher is a beast, just gotta take your distance while shooting.

Pistols on Lights are probably the best way to use a pistol. Imagine someone with a Belgo MP running halfway across the map in a second, climb atop some random object and jump over head, to down you mid-air?

Shotguns are, besides Snipers, the strongest weapons in the game. Just get close and they're dead.

Sniper Rifles are bad?

HAHAHAHHAHAH

HAHAHAHAHHAHA

Sniper Rifles are so greatly balanced in comparison to other games, and the maps are so perfect for them, it makes me cry every time I start up Brink, and you think it's bad?

Oh damn, you are funny.

It has insane ammo capacity, incredible stability (and w/ a Muzzle Break, Speed Sling gives a bigger stability bonus than the Foregrip) and decent accuracy. It may be one of the weaker SMGs, but you can sustain fire on a target longer & more consistently than most others.

Agreed.

You can easily use longer bursts than with any other weapon and still consistently do high-damage if you're aiming well.

The ammo is nice. But i guess it's kill time isn't worth the stability to me.

Not a huge fan of the galatic myself, but mainly because I use hipfire when using smg, galatic dosnt half hipfire well.
It is however a great smg if you use ironsight and aim for head.

Personally I would have to say the heavy launcher and shotgun are the weapons I feel are the weakest.

I find the Galactic pretty reasonable hipfiring when you're in close quarters (which you usually are).

It loses that accuracy a LITTLE bit at mid-range, but careful bursts or ADS can help with that.

I've actually counter-sniped with it online in one mission - I was surprised at how well it worked (against a pretty good Drognav user, too, but I had a Medic, and he didn't).

How are you finding lag anyway? I haven't dabbled much online except for last night, I joined a US friend's game and it jumped & skipped a bit, but it was surprisingly playable and still enjoyable.

I've had no noticeable lag in about a dozen games. Only had one with a full 4 vs. 4 human players though - haven't tried "Big Teams" mode yet - will do that when I wake up, it's time to sleep now.
