Would it be possible to...

I just don't get how it's "qualified" as modding though and would it really be a problem on a single player game?

Take it up with Microsoft. I personally see no problem with it, but Microsoft feels that if they allow the Console to be added, than it will create a snowball affect.

Modding in it's proper term "Modification"; and while it maybe just a single player game it still has achievments, personally I think they are the worst trend that ever got started in gaming, but they are the reason for anti-cheat measures in a single player game.

That just seems arrogant and stupid of them to me honestly, I mean if they just allowed it on one single player I don't see how it would hurt them or add a snowball effect at all <_< .

Ask Microsoft? Ask Sony? They're the ones refusing to let it happen, and it's not like they take orders from anyone here.

I don't see how "cheats" are a problem in a single player only game though, it's not like he'll be screwing any one's experience up in the process besides his own possibly. I also don't understand how achievements matter either, I could care less if some random guy wants to take all the fun out of it and use cheats, I mean they can even have it where they deactivates achievements when you use cheats like in both GTA:IV/liberty city stories, which are both console games.

I'm assuming more than the concern over modding is that any time you allow players to pass arbitrary information to a program for execution it opens up the potential for exploits that could, say, break the console, or even worse (in their eyes) do things like remove/overwrite copyright protection schemes or regionation.
