Would you be interested in watching a Skyrim movie?

not skyrim, but morrowind should do.
a movie with demigods walking around is somewhat still a trend today.
and imagine what the team that made AVATAR could do to build the landscape of vvardenfell
i would be amazing..

Only if it was about an amazonian Khajiit archer!

Oh wait, that's why Skyrim would never make a good movie, everyone's vision of the dragonborn is different.

Just an Elder scrolls Movie spanning the epic Whole of Tamriel. split into a trilliogy i suppose, not one made from a game, just no.

to simular to LotR if you ask me, Gathering villiages/clans together for a war going into a big firey volcano...it will get ridiculled i imagine, and simply Game > Move? no thanks. independent movie story line by all means.

Sure, if they had a director that didn't write video game fanfiction as a hobby. What the Elder Scrolls deserves is an awesome director with a lot of notoriety, one capable of truly capturing the mood of the Elder Scrolls, just don't let the storywriters from BGS have too much control over dialogue.

The problem is usually the game developers having no control over dialogue, this is why so many game to film conversions svck bad. You usually find these directors have little interest in the games they are transferring to film. Bethesda are rich enough to create their own movie studio anyway.

oh, how about a movie that tells the tale of the great migration after red mountain erupted and destroyed nearly all of the main island.
the story of how dunmers struggle to reach the promised land that is skyrim,
only to find that the promised land torn apart by the civil war at the end of the movie
that would be an interesting twist and sort of anticlimix so to speak..

When i think of a movie based of avideo game i always think its going to be bad.
Maybe a movie based on infernal city would be great.

No.....movies based on games or (shudder) games based on movies rarely come out well - just leave well enough alone.

No, but i'd be interested in watching an Elder Scrolls movie so that it didn't interfere with any of the previous games.

No way. Up to this point, every videogame-based movie ever made was either plain awful (or, merely mediocre, like Prince of Persia). The only movie I enjoyed about video games was Scott Pilgrim vs the World. And it was based on a comic book. There's a reason the big directors of Hollywood avoid directing videogame adaptations, and that's because 'game-movies' directed by people like Uwe Boll have given the genre such a bad rap. We would need someone like Christopher Nolan to reinvigorate the genre. If a Skyrim movie had the technical brilliance and excitement of movies like 'The Dark Knight', maybe. But I don't see that happening anytime soon. And how would be a movie based on Skyrim be anyway? The hero runs into thousands of glitches while saving the world from a dragon? Very... metaphysical :P

Not Skyrim, but The Elder Scrolls, yes.

Sean Bean for sure. Especially since he already did the voice for brother Martin in Oblivion. Sean Bean is the ultimate medieval warrior actor.

Guy Pierce as the hero (loved his role in The Count of Monte Cristo).

Weta Workshop for weapons and armor.

Sean Bean? One does not simpl slay Aluduin....

I sincerely think that a movie with "that script" (Skyrim) perhaps would be my permanent nightmare for the next 10 years

even if they would be hiring Martin Scorsese,Clint Eastwood or Peter Jackson  to make it :bunny:

Maybe not based on Skyrim, but based in the TES universe, yes.
Maybe based on The Infernal City book or something.
Sure it can take place in Skyrim, but dont use the quests we've already put hours into.

I could see a movie on TES, or the events of Skyrim, but the main characters would probably be someone other than the dragonborn.

What are you trying to say? Tron wasn't based on a specific videogame... it was influenced by them. Just like Scott Pilgrim.

one could imagine having Arnold S voice all of the Nords in such a film... it would be hilarious. every character in the movie just dropping one-liners from Skyrim... lol. "I don't claim to be the best blacksmith in Whiterun"...

Based on Tes universe ? why not...the important would be make it "credible" -and its not so easy i think.

The only good idea -Skyrim related - would be the Snow Elves/Dwemer probably.
Even more 'cause i'm already sick and tired of seeing the Lord of the Rings "vision" of this "creatures" -elves with "captain spock ears" and dwarves short and fat like a baby-boy with a food disease  ah and with a long beard like the Snowy White ones, almost i forgot :bunny:

Hahaha... yeah, the title is kind of phrased that way

I wouldn't be interested in a skyrim or elder scrolls movie because every videogame movie so far has been bad (or just average, like Prince of Persia). I realistically don't see that changing anytime soon. Perhaps a day will come when Hollywood learns to make proper, critically-acclaimed movies out of videogames. They did it with comic-book adaptations, so I'm hopeful about that :)

A movie would be a bad idea because the games are so invested in your own path, choice, character design and so on. There's less of a sense of who the 'good guys' and 'bad guys' are (Thieves Guild? Companions? etc.) so the usual way films are made from games - taking recognisable elements of the game and forming them into a similar-ish narrative (like the Resident Evil franchise) - would probably upset more people than please them.

Another problem is that watching a film based on a game would be as much fun as it is to watch someone else playing Skyrim, and not letting you play.

I'd watch it as long as Beth has nothing to do with its filming/developing. I don't know how much I'd like watching a movie at 0 FPS...
