'wow' moments.

Ahh yes that was certainly unexpected.. Well you was expecting something bad to happen, because every 5 minutes in Skyrim your attacked, ambushed, trapped or become servant to some malvolent deity.
Yeah, totally. I kept thinking to myself, "I shouldn't be here, I shouldn't be here, I really probably shouldn't be here, oh god, I'm touching stuff I probably shouldn't be touching...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!"

My first time experiencing Kagrenzel was most definitely a wow moment for me. I wish I could relive that moment for the first time over and over again. The beginning of the dungeon was so unexpected, mysterious, enthralling and frightening all at the same time. It's really what I wanted out of Skyrim and that dungeon delivered.

Oh god yes, I remember Kagrenzel. I tried to escape, because I was sure that divine lightning or something would strike me down, but there was no way out and the noise seemed to grow louder, and then...welll, y ou know what happened next. XD
I almost suffered a heart attack.

For that encounter I thought, ah what's the harm in helping a kind stranger. It's a nice enough evening and I'm not too busy. I'll just get this done and be on my way. Ha. Right.

Being attacked by Alduin in the intro scene. I really really like the way he looks, and died miserably as I was running and hopping around him just to see more of him.

Me traveling in the Reach, walking near the top of a hill, when suddenly *WHOOSH* a dragon flies very close over my head (my screen was completely filled with dragon for a sec) and started roaring and circling me in a friendly manner.

Meeting Paarthurnax. Unfortunately, I'd already been spoiled he's a dragon, so that diminished the wow feeling a bit, but it was still cool. As is his voice by the way.

First time playing with the Better Distant Terrain mod included in Realistic Lighting 3.4. The view is just breath-taking!

Am I the only one that hs never set foot in Blackreach?

On my 1st playthrough, I stopped by the stream on the way to Riverwood and marvelled at the salmon acting like proper salmon jumping up waterfalls.
Entering Wolfskull Cave for the first time and seeing the ritual
Seeing the Nirn equivelent of the Northern Lights for the first time
Standing outside High Hrothgar and looking out over the landscape far below
Seeing dragons flying far in the distance
Some of the scenery itself

I'm sure I'll see more because I haven't even seen half of the stuff I know Skyrim has

I love positive topics like this. So much needless Skyrim hate.

It was similar for me. I was being attacked by multiple Forsworn with bows, and the arrows zooming by and crashing onto the rocks behind got me PUMPED.
When I got my first archery kill move, I was all HOLY DIBELLA THAT WAS AWESOME.
The first time I visited the Eldergleam sanctuary, too. I thought it was beautiful.

When I just got the game and walked in the tundra and saw the northern lights in the night sky. I really felt like I was all alone in a distant world.

Nerdy, yes I know, but still...

Same here, man. No shame.

Am I the only one that doesn't like Blackreach? I think it is because the first time I went there I searched for two hours looking for the stupid Crimson Nirnroot. I think that just burned me out on it.

No, you're not. I agree it's beautiful, but I hate the darkness, not being able to see where I'm going, not seeing enemies - this time I made the screen as bright as possible, but it kind of felt like cheeting.
It's always a relief getting back in the sunlight again.

My experience was same as yours first time I went there. Quite overwhelming really. It gave me a headache. But second time, I decided not to worry about crimson nirnroot and and going to every place. I was a much happier person as result.

When I was taking Whiterun the sheer amount of Stormcloaks was crazy. Plus, when I first did the quest to stop the wolf queen it creeped me out a lot and I just said," Woah, this is really weird".

Walking into Whiterun in the night with all the torches lit and the northern lights up above. Looks pretty nice.

As do I, most threads now seem to be about something negative or how something could be improved.
I love how most people have a different story too :D

First time walking towards Solitude in my first game and seeing that city, sprawled across a natural archway.
I just stood there, wowed.

My first archery kill cam, arrow to the head of a bandit that was FAR away. I just was in awe. Then the bandits I didn't see came and pulverized me to a pulp.

Shortly after was an awe moment in the opposite manor. I got the quest for a mammoth tusk. Went out and shot an arrow at a mammoth. I thought I missed cause I saw his life bar didn't move. Shot another and saw a tiny sliver come off his life. That's when I had that... What did I get myself into moment.

First laying my eyes upon Blackreach definitely made me go "Woooooow." I wasn't expecting to be so overwhelmed by the size and and scope of it all. The giant shrooms are insane and I love how subtle their movements are. Really makes them seem alive.

My biggest wow moment would have to be when I first started playing on Master and refused to take myself off of it. I was with Faendal and a Frost Dragon was flying overhead. I knew taking it on would be foolish, so I tried to take a detour through the snowy wilderness. Me and Faendal sneaked through, but it was getting dark and so he decided to pull out his torch. The torch gave away his postion and I heard the dragon and knew he could see him. It started flying over the tree tops above us, and for a moment I lost him. Then I looked up and saw him hovering above us getting ready to attack. So I quickly ran behind a tree to avoid the frost coming from him. Faendal was behind a rock shooting arrows at him. I decided to heal myself and knew there was no way we were going to escape it. Waited for my magic to regenerate so I could do a dual conjure of the Bound Bow spell so that it would stay for as long as I needed it to. Faendal had got the dragon to land, and thats when I decided to start attacking. I thought surely our arrows combined could prove overwhelming. But no, I landed but 3 arrows, and with a simple whack of his tail I was already almost dead, so I took cover behind a tree to heal again. I watched Faendal try to take him head on with his Akaviri Katana. But the Frost Dragon grabbed him, and flew off with him, dropping into the side of a mountain. So I used my Ironflesh Spell, drank up some Magicka Potions, ran out with my Bound Battleaxe. And came out victorious. But with just a sliver of health. It definitely left me with a ... wow. Lol

When I met the nightmother in the coffin during the darkbrotherhood quest line, when i realized the sleeping dragon on the top of the stone for the first time... When I killed all the cannibals in the cave/ruin meeting place then I found out I will never get the ring of namira which is the only item i couldn't collect in the whole game... there are too many wow moments in the game and every one of them has a special meaning for me...
