Is it wrong to want to secede from the Empire?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 9:29 pm

At the time of this game, Black Marsh, Morrowind (because of the Argonian conquest), Hammerfell and now Skyrim (if you support Ulfric) want to secede from the Empire. Is this a bad thing really? Times have changed and every powerful empire/nation will eventually fall. Perhaps it is the elves turn to rule again. They could have decimated the human populace when they defeated the Empire, but they didn't. They signed a treaty that established new borders and ended the bloodshed. It's a new world, things change. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n301/captmorgan72/NewTamriel.png

They signed the treaty because they were too weak not because they wanted peace, also the elves don't want to rule, they want to destroy mankind and Mundus with it.
Also YES it's wrong to secede from the empire don't go spreading ideas to people :nono:

I think in the future, Hammerfell and The Empire will be combined to face the threat of the elves. Skyrim will continue to be a part of The Empire and the worship of Talos will be restored. I suspect the Argonians will stay neutral.

I really don't think it's necessarily a bad thing but I think they might wanna take down the Aldmeri Dominion first as they seem to want to conquer everyone and make elves rule over all and no human races have any say over anything by their standards...

If the Argonian ever decide to fight against the Thalmor, they're screwed.According to one of the books in the game, when the daedra invaded Black Marsh the Hist called all the Argonians back and their numbers were so great, the daedra had to close the gates to stop from being flooded and out-numbered.Immortal demons are afraid of the Argonians, I don't think the Thalmor would stand much of a chance against them.

The Elves can't conquer Tamriel any more than the Empire can conquer the Elves. But, no, its not wrong to want to secede.

Really ..

I think about the Empire, like the Roman Empire in it's 3th and 4th centuries, it's was just screwed, the tamriel / nirn , cyrodillic empire isn't tnat much different ...

Remember Marcus Aurelius the last Emperor of the Romans Golden age, well I think it's a about that, Uriel Septim VI or so was Marcus Aurelius, after that the Emperors with a couple of expections where pretty rubish ...

Depends. If you think you can do better and you have a genius plan to make things right, and only want whats best for everyone. No, it's not wrong.

If your only plan is to charge in wasting resources, men, and think you can take down a government strong enough to go toe-to-toe with the continent super power (note, the full force of the Empires military was not focused in Skyrim). And then think you can come out on top as only a single province without penalty, and plan to banish many other races from the continent.

Then, in my opinion. Yes. You would be a fool.

I think its because the Daedra invaded Black Marsh. The Argonians were fighting on their terrain, which they are used too. Black Marsh is a very hostile enviroment for any other race, which gives the Argonians a great advantage.

I think if the Argonians just had to fight in another province, or just head up with another race, they would get spanked. Im not very clear on alot of the lore though, so I could be wrong

the argonians fought in dagon's deadlands for the better part of the battles, other-wise the deadra would not have closed the gates

it does not matter who wins this petty war, the kingdom of argonia can and will (when the hist thinks the time is right) beat the mer off of tamriel, as logn as noone else does it first of course

Beyond the fact taht right and wrong are morals created by each for society itself as mentioned before and bla bla. I say at this time it's wrong. Not because elves been cruel rulers but the fact that the Thalmor want to completely destroy the mortal world and men with it. SO yes by wanted to secede you support future genocide.

If you mean Titus Mede II...Throughout the game it is strongly implied that In the end He was A good person.

How does it go now? "We're coming for you in every one of your quarters, Sons of Talos. None shall survive."

No, I don't think it is.

Humanity would be stronger if they worked together as an alliance instead of one (the Cyrodiils) dominating and coercing all the others. An alliance of free nations is stronger than a union of oppressed peoples.

The only way the empire will grow to be strong again is with a total reboot. Most people realize that with the status quo going as it is humankind will be wiped out by the Thalmor. The empire talks a good talk but they are NOT 'secretly' rebuilding faster than the Thalmor. Something needs to change.

Spoiler

However now with the death of the emperor by the hands of the DB it may be possible for Skyrim to rejoin the empire if the new emperor is not such a thalmor butt kisser

They dont want to rule. They want to destroy

I thought it was just the Thalmor who want to destroy everything. If the Dominion has a different government then it could rule?

Secession is always tricky.

How do you perceive Skyrim's politics? Is it like America seceding from the British Empire? Or is it like the Confederacy trying to secede from America?
