Xbox 360 controller for computer

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 5:26 am

You could never beat me in a online game with a controller and if you want a game of UT3 on your controller against me you'll be embarrassed

its mentally [censored] that you even mentioned this
try to imagine skyrim as something more than an arcade kill-score "videogame" before you turn this into a mouse/controller debate

i certainly do not have the skills myself, but ive seen console players murder people dead before most people could even click their mouse
and thats still irrellevent concerning the topic of this thread
but you know what im talking about

ive played hours upon hours upon hours of bethesda games with a controller and i absolutely would not have it any other way
what does that have anything to do with whether or not you play with a keyboard and mouse or a controller?

and yeah we could play unreal together and youd probably destroy me, but youre in the wrong place for that discussion

i highly recommend the 360 controller for skyrim pc
i dont know anything about mac, but if it does work youll be pleased

edit: a word that i used was censored
technically, its a medical term to describe somebody whose brain isnt working properly
and to those people i have the utmost respect, especially if they are successfully living their lives
those of us whose brains are working properly shouldnt be wasting them by arguing on internet forums about irreverent topics

it is embarrassing and i meant no offense to the people in question

also its a stupid thing to censor

You people take it so seriously and you took my words about UT3 out of context.

Also

I challenge you to any online game period

This is why I said UT3.

Nice rant but fine, you guys limit yourself to two thumbs and enjoy yourself just the way Bethesda intended it.

oooh, well then thats a different story altogether
the debate will come up from time to time- there arent any controller vs. mousekeyboard multiplayer games
but lets just say if controllers exploded............lots of people would be handless

edit: yes as a response to "I challenge you to any online game period"

I'm sure you love the controller menu system as well, poor PC users limiting themselves to console control design. It's really sad to see but thankfully SkyUI removes the limitations of the sad Skyrim menu system. Enjoy your scrolling list of doom. :P

Controller support is on the list for in progress on SKYUI it is more the terrible mouse support with Vsync on which I prefer not to tempt.

Use triple buffer in the d3d overrider, also frame-rate limiter to your monitor refresh can stop the mouse lag.

I didn't realise sitting back on my couch playing GTA with my 360 pad on my TV made me a casual gamer. I'll remember that next time I play BF2 for 12 hours straight - m+k.

(admittedly I'm not averted to iPhone or DS games ;))

I'll add you, lord knows most people lack friends on Origin lol.

Strangely I've got 20+ friends on Game Centre (iPhone). Yes it's all people I have on Xbox Live and Steam, but still seems odd.

Causal couch PC gamer. :P

I think those lines are blurred because now days people treat their PC like a console and use it on their TV with a joypad, which is exactly what console gamers do. I used to find it hard to put my PC through my TV because it just made me feel not serious and just, well casual. I've always liked to separate my TV from my PC because I work and game on my PC monitor, TV for TV stuff. :)

I'm full on, but sometimes just like to chillax and the pad is comfortable :) its only a few games, my monitor has a better picture obviously, so it all depends on my mood :)

But as you said, any fps or rts game needs a m+k. And usually decent actual PC games are better with m+k :)

Same here its my system to play single player fun chill mode games and the more competitive online stuff as well. I just have zero faith in console stability but the games that come out for them(at least some) are def worth playing.
Would love to see some Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4 and some Gears of War on PC.

wow what a bunch of off topic crap on this thread......my only comment on the subject is that before I switched to a controller I was ready to toss this game in the trash.....now I set back and enjoy.

I swear the staunch defenders of the m&k that call anyone sitting on their couch using a game pad casual just can't afford the setup.Skyrim is easy, if you need a m&k you are doing something wrong, it's entirely interchangeable. You can't tell me that project reality (my main game, and the ultimate PC gamers game if you ask me) is not 50x more enjoyable and immersive on a 50" monitor with full authentic surround sound. With one of those snazzy new age wireless keyboard and mouse combos! In my opinion, with any game like skyrim, I want to be comfortable for the hours I'll spend playing it. K&m is not uncomfortable, but it's more restrictive than a game pad.

I'd also like to add that I grew up laughing at the [censored] pc game pads that were released for years, but with such excellent support and a comfortable control scheme.... remember that we are pc elitists because we can change, adapt, upgrade, or manipulate our pcs in any way.

Ah, the "keyboard and mouse" snobbery league is back in fine form. Step back boys (it's always boys) and witness an argument even more pathetic than "my console is better than yours".

Yes, you've spent a lot of money on a keyboard, and a lot of money on a mouse. You can target individual nostril hairs, good for you. Bbbbuuuutttt wait! There's someone playing games on a PC, but with a joypad!!!??? They must be all manner of wrong and in no way l33t! Incandescent Rage! Quick, jump onto some forums and vent at Evil Microsoft and their nefarious plans for dumbing down humanity.

Ultimately, Skyrim is great with a joypad (but make sure you get the fantastic SkyUI). If you don't believe me, whatever. If you play it with a keyboard and mouse, no problemo! It's all good! And I won't jump on to threads where kb&m players discuss setting up hotkeys etc as it's not my business.

If I ever use a console *cough* (and I use the term loosely) "controller" to play a game, may gremlins from the lowest level of hades gnaw my gibblets off...

As someone who has been pc gaming for 15+ years at this point and has defended, moaned, and [censored]ed about simplification of pc games, I can tell you I sincerely feel sorry for you as a gamer if you have never gotten to experience a slew of excellent console games, halo (especially the original), gears of wars, demons/dark souls, and plenty more.
