I'm not a big fan of level scaling and I personally wouldn't mind if the world was more pre-determined, but it is a much harder design process and that would bring a whole other set of complaints. I still like the game though and I still like levelling up.

I tend to only care about levels when I have access to a new perk I've been wanting... otherwise it falls off my radar.

I laugh every time I read in the same sentence "character development" and "leveling" :D
Ha!
On topic it doesn't actually matter if you level at all with one exception : the different mob types BUT in most cases they differ only in name and not in appearance / AI / etc.
So if you finish the game as level 1 character or level 255 there is no difference.

I did care about leveling while I was still getting experience for my main skills. Now I don't really care and I just enjoy trying new fighting styles/equipment options.

I do care about leveling in some sort of manner your general level however is not needed but leveling separate skills should always be in the game because it gives benefits to doing certain actions and progressing through the game. Now the way leveling is implemented into Skyrim makes leveling redundant due to scaling that the enemies have. Removing the general level in Skyrim wouldn't really effect much and move the ability to unlock "perks" or more abilities through separate skills vs 1 for every general level.

As a mage, I care a little more than most people playing non-mages I would imagine. It's not vital to level, but I do enjoy all the new toys and tricks.

The leveling is an improvement over Oblivions horrid leveling system, but I agree there is still much room for improvement on the system in this game. Also leveling affects how you wish to develop your character and play as you you intend with your chosen character.

I try to avoid leveling up as much as I can, only use a few skills that are needed for my build.

im starting to see the point in a non scaled environment. tho i think a way to do it would also to make leveling up less about increase in power and more about increase in options. so a difference betwee level 5 and level 25 isnt so great.

I don't care about leveling so much as I care about feeling like my character is progressing. Leveling is only one way I get that feeling. Gear is another way, as is the acquisition of new spells. That is what I care more about. When I feel like my character is standing still, I lose interest. All the quests or cool dungeons in the world will not change that, unless they can also be built to make me feel like my character is progressing.

Yes, but just because it's necessary to progress through the game and get perks. I really want to improve my one handed damage on my sneak assassin so I can get to the point where I can hold my own sometimes in a 1v1. Because now once something breathes on me I die. My light armor is so low because when I take damage it's lethal. Makes me so very. Saaaaaaaad.

Leveling is not a priority and I often forget to actually level up. I get caught up in the life of my character and care more about the created narrative than the leveling itself.

There's no point of leveling because enemies are level scaled
